Tips for Planning a Princess Party

Princess Party

Planning A Princess Party

My daughter who just recently turned 6 is totally into Disney Princesses and all things princess related. So not to my surprise, when she was asked what type of birthday party she would like to have, she said a “PRINCESS PARTY.” Now the struggle begins with how to plan the party.

Starting with the invitations

All of your guest will get the idea of your party by the invitation that you send out. You can make invitations or buy them its your choice. If you make invitations you could get some white card stock paper, maybe cut out the shape of a crown, then have your princess decorate it how she wants, or you decorate it with so foam cutouts or some fake jewel embellishments. If you choose to buy them you can find may different types of princess invitations. Specifically Disney princess invitations , they seem to be the most common. Now when you are writing in the information don’t forget to write that the party is for Princess and your daughters name. Now with the guest just seeing your invitations they know you are throwing a Princess Party.

Next you need to move on to the Decorations

I went to party city for most of the decorations for my daughters princess party. I also checked local department stores and dollar stores to my surprise I was able to find something at all of these types of stores.

I found a really cute banner that said princess party and hung that in the doorway for everyone to see when they came in. I picked up some pink and white tablecloths (from the dollar store mind you) I used these for the gift and food tables I also used a white one for a runner when you entered the party area. I also picked up some bags of pink and white balloons, blew them all up hung them around the house and also tied some to my daughters chair she was sitting in. You can also grab some pink and white streamers, hang them all around the house just for an added boost. Decorations all depends on the person, how much you want to decorate.

I purchased some princess plates, cups and napkins. If you happen to have any princes coming to your party like I did you could pick up some plain colored plates and cups and napkins just in case.

Party Favors and Games

My daughter wanted all of her friends to have a goodie bag for when they left. So I picked up a few cute little things for little princesses not to expensive. Everything I picked up was from the dollar store. I picked up some lip-gloss, bracelets, hair clips, and stickers. For the big thing I put in their bags I picked up a set of the fake high heel, wand and crown sets for each girl. For the princes’ I picked up a big ball for them, fake tattoos, couple of race cars and an action figure. I put candy in each bag also. I also grabbed a set of 8 party crowns that the girls were able to decorate on there own from party city they had stickers of all the princesses to add on to the crowns for each of the girls to wear.

Games

We played a game were you had to stick the princess in her tower. It’s kind of like pin the tail on the donkey but with princesses. I also picked up a piñata that we played with for as game. I was luck that my daughters birthday is in the summer so everyone played outside through out the whole party. There are a few other games that I was going to use at my daughters party but we just never got around too it. You could have a scavenger hunt hiding gold and sliver fake coins through out the party area that lead them up to a great big box of treasure. Just fill the box the full of little toys like coloring books, crayons, beaded necklaces, bracelets and anything else a princess may like.
