‘The Vow’ (2012): Based on a True Story!

Though I am usually not the romantic type, (yes ladies and gentleman – as a woman, I am just not! lol – However, my hubby is…) I decided to sit down and entertain the love of my life, and watch the movie, “The Vow.” I must say, I was pleasantly surprised!

“The Vow” is a romantic drama based loosely on the true story of Kim and Krickett Carpenter. The wife Paige(Rachel McAdams) and the husband Leo (Channing Tatum) our on a fun night out, when unexpectedly they are in a severe car accident. After a period of time in the hospital – Paige doesn’t remember anything from the past 5 years, and to make it more interesting, she doesn’t remember her husband. Her last memory consists of being in law school and engaged to another gentleman.

More conflict arises when Paige finds out exactly why she moved to the big apple to begin with, her turbulent relationship with her father, and complicated relationship with her ex-fiance.

Written by Jason Katims and Abby Kohn, and directed by Michael Sucsy, The Vow is a great romantic drama that pulls at your heart strings as the viewers try to determine which character to feel more pity for. Is it Leo, who tries to win back Paiges heart and make her fall in love with him all over again, or is it Paige, who believes that her parents, along with her friends, are taken advantage f her misplaced memory?

With a complex plot, and wonderfully played out parts by great actors and actresses, “The Vow” is a must see for any couple.
