Metro Mobility

Metro Mobility is a paratransit service of the Mountain Metro that offers door-to-door public transportation for disabled people who are unable to use the regular bus system or get to the nearest bus stop, including ADA-certified non-locals who’ll be in Colorado Springs. Bus riders using this service must apply and be interviewed prior to being approved for this service. The service runs the same time frames as the fixed route service, with the exception of holidays.

When making a reservation, bus riders using this service need to keep in mind that they can do so up to seven days into the future, but have to make them at least a day in advance before 5 p.m., as well as letting the reservations staff know if they’re bringing a service animal and/or a companion along for their scheduled ride (companions coming are subject to available space and pay the same fare as the rider). The best time to call is between 9 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. Those public transportation bus riders using the Metro Mobility can bring along their Personal Care Attendant, too, for free, which is highly recommended if they will need assistance beyond 15 feet of the Metro Mobility bus of Colorado Springs, which is where the driver’s assistance basically ends. Riders are expected to be ready to go between 15 minutes before/after the scheduled time of the reservation, with the driver only waiting five minutes. Not being ready for the driver makes riders subject to a “no-show” status. They need to keep in mind that if shopping, only the equivalent of two grocery bags of passenger cargo is allowed for each paratransit bus rider, which they must keep on their person or under their seats.

Riders who need to cancel are expected to do so ASAP, but are considered “no shows” if not done at least 60 minutes in advance. They can phone in their cancellation 24/7 by calling 719-392-2396 with Option #2. Riders can lose their privileges if they accumulate six “no shows”/canceling too late in a rolling 30 day time frame and for acting inappropriately, too.

Metro Mobility Public Transportation Fares (Which Require Exact Change With Money Or Check)

According to the Metro Mobility Guide to Ride, the reservation maker tells riders what their fares are going to be, but passes for this public transportation service are available online at the following prices:

10 Ride Mobility Pass used within the city limits of Colorado Springs: $25.00 (one-way rides)
10 Ride Mobility Pass used outside the city limits of Colorado Springs: $37.50 (one-way rides)

Those Mountain Metro Mobility riders who come and go from the same place at least twice a week can ask for a subscription service, which saves a lot of time and hassle making individual reservations.
