The Bloated Belly

Belly Bloat, Bloating, Yeast Overgrowth

Why is my stomach bloating up when I eat?
Bloating is gas that’s trapped in the digestive tract, in the stomach and intestines. For lots of guys over 40, this is a feeling of fullness or tightness or swelling in the abdominal area and this trapped gas is a miserable feeling. I know this from years of experience.

Eating too much at the wrong time, eating too fast, eating spicy hot foods, and drinking too much liquid with your meals will give you gas and bloat you up like a balloon.

Fast food gives you the feeling of fullness or tightness in your gut. Why because of the sodium content. Sodium causes your body to retain fluid.

What else should I do?
Slow down when you eat. Eating too fast can increase the amount of air that you swallow and this air gets stuck in your gut and will cause your belly to bloat and get tight. You may have to suck in your gut just to see your feet among other things.

Chewing gum can cause your gut to bloat because you swallow a lot of air and saliva. I learned this from experience too. The longer you chew the more you bloat up.
.
A bloated stomach is a sure sign of poor digestion and possibly Candida (intestinal yeast overgrowth).
Not drinking enough water and not getting enough fiber will cause you to bloat. It causes water retention and constipation and stomach pain.
When you are bloating you need to eliminate one food at a time until you find the one that’s causing the gas

Women are more affected by stomach bloating than men. It is not unusual for a woman to feel her stomach bloating up before her period. .

But most of the problems that cause a bloated belly are related to your eating habits. You need to eat slower because, when you eat very fast, the pressure in your stomach will rise and a lot of gas will be produced and your belly will swell.

What foods cause my belly to bloat?
Milk and other dairy products can give you a major bloat.
Sugar foods are hard for some people to digest. Some people are sugar sensitive and get very tired or irritable when eating sugar foods.

Beans, milk and certain fruits and vegetables will give you major gas. Bread and other wheat products, candies, soft drinks, beer, fast foods, hot dogs, ketchup, canned soups, beanie weenies and anything with a high sodium content will bloat you so bad you can’t see your feet. Wheat foods can cause the stomach to bloat due to the gluten in the wheat.

Crackers and breads are notorious to bloat you up and give you brain fog (poor concentration) and fatigue.

Antibiotics can cause your stomach to bloat, because antibiotics destroy the good bacteria in your intestines. This can cause the build up of yeast or Candida in the intestines which will give you a big belly bloat. And feeling like a stuffed pig is a miserable thing.

You need to take a good pro-biotic when you take antibiotics. This helps to restore the good bacteria in your digestive track. You can also take some digestive enzymes to help to digest your foods.

So If you want to get rid of the bloated belly syndrome, you need to cut down on the sweets, the fats and salty foods. These types of foods can and will cause belly bloating.

How do I know what foods are bloating me?
Start your self a food diary. Write in it everyday everything you eat and drink. Write down all medicines and supplements you take.
Write down how much water you drink how much exercise and sleep you get.
Write down all the times thank you eat or drink.

Do this daily for several weeks or more. This way you can look back and see what you were eating at a particular time when you felt bad, got bloated or fatigued.
It can help you to pinpoint problem foods.
This is an invaluable tool.

So happy eating. Hope this helps.
