Summer camps are great for children, they teach responsibility, independence, and gives them time to just have a great time. However sometimes it is hard to find a good summer camp especially a camp for girls only. The following is a good list of camps for your children that will give them a great story to tell when school starts up again.
Camp Nicolet – This summer camp is in Eagle River, Wisconsin. This summer camp is great for its activities. They have wakeboarding, waterskiing, kayaking, inline skating, and self defense classes. For older female campers they have day adventures where they kayak over the lake, or go through a tough ropes course, or even take a white water rafting trip. They have 1 month or two month camps and depending on the length you will pay from 3,875.00 – 6225.00. However they also have financial aid that may allow children to qualify for partial scholarships.
Firebird Camp – This summer camp has over 50 different activities for girls to enjoy. They have a carnival every summer, sailing, mud wrestling, collegiate week, and riflery. They are located in Bowerston, OH and they have one, two, three, and four week camps depending on age and experience. They also have two month camps for older girls. The prices can go from 900.00 dollars to 5,275.00 depending on length of stay. This is a great camp where girls don’t have a chance to get bored.
Camp Sabra – This all girls summer camp is located in Missouri right by the Lake of the Ozarks. They have 18 day to 28 day camps depending on age and experience. They have archery, dance, photography, and theater. They also learn how to live in a cabin with other girls and how to be independent while they are at this summer camp. This is a Judaic community for children involved with Judaism.
Lake of the Woods Camp – This summer camp is in Decatur, Michigan. They have a wide variety of activities such as model rocketry, guitar, go-carting, ceramics, and animal care. Every girl gets to choose what she wants to be most involved in which help make their summer a memorable one. The length of camp goes from 1 month or 2months depending on your choice. The price for the one month camp is 4,350.00 – 7,250 for two months. They also have carnival days and an Olympic day to make summer camp extra special.
Birch Trail Camp for Girls – This summer camp is very homey and not overrun by too many girls at one time which allows for one on time with each child. They have jazz dance, pottery, radio broadcasting, and even writing for the camp newspaper. They have 4 or eight week summer camps depending on how your child does away from home. The price for the camps is 4,200 for 4 weeks and 7,200 for eight weeks. This is a great traditional summer camp for girls.
Camp Kupugani – This all girls summer camp is located in Leaf Eagle, Illinois. This camp focuses on nature and diversity through activities. They have rock climbing on real rock faces and a lake for swimming. They have a 2 weeks session which keep girls there for enough time to remember but not so much that they start to miss family. They also have volleyball, ecology, and night hikes. The camp costs 1,550.00 for the two weeks and they provide scholarships based on need.
Camp Agawak – This is an all girl summer camp located in Minocqua, Wisconsin. This summer camp has been around since 1922 and has always been an all girls camp. Their activities include marbleizing, diving, candle making, and henna art. They also have overnight trips that involve canoeing and camping by the lake for the older girls. This is a very well known camp for girls that has a great reputation for fun.
Camp Marimeta – This summer camp is located in Eagle River, Wisconsin. They have a very large range of activities for girls such as sailing, fishing, windsurfing, golf, tennis, and cheerleading. They have a large staff guaranteeing one on one time with your children. They have been a summer camp since 1947. It is a small camp usually only housing 167 to 190 girls. This is a great camp for the shy girls because they get to interact with girls their age without it being overwhelming.
Clearwater Camp for Girls – The summer camp is located in Minocqua, Wisconsin as well. They really have some interesting activities for the campers like nature lore, English riding, sailboarding, and tumbling. They have 4 week and 8 weeks sessions depending on the length of time your child really wants. The tuition is dependent on what your child wants to be involved in and if there is any financial aid you qualify for. They also have small out of camp trips that are long walks studying nature which is great for the older girls.
Camp Lincoln – This is a great summer camp for all ages of girls. They have 4 and 8 weeks sessions for the girls so that doending on what you and your children need you have that ability to choose. They have a plethora of activities such as Lacrosse, martial arts, crew rowing, and wilderness trips. The prices range from 1,625.00 to 6,875.00. This camp was actually founded in 1909 giving it many years to perfect its planning and traditions for your children.
Summer camp should be a joyful time for all girls and these camps provide great memories, responsibility, and growth. Kids also will find friends that will last a lifetime.
