All through college I was so busy during the regular semesters that I was only able to work a few hours a week at a minimum wage on-campus job. This meant that during the summer break I needed to really work to make enough cash to take me through the regular college year. Bank Teller. A great summer job for students is that of a bank teller/customer service representative. Because of the need to cover for vacations, many banks hire summer employees. This summer job for students typically offers regular business hours and Saturday morning work, good pay, and nice working conditions. In order to be considered for a summer job as a bank teller, you will need some good basic math skills. You will also need to be able to type on a 10 key numeric pad. Summer Camp Worker. Summer camps offer many opportunities for students looking for summer work. Summer camp jobs range from sports teachers to arts and crafts instructors, recreation leaders, and even cooks. Summer camps throughout the country hire college students every year for summer work. For this summer job be prepared to work long hours and possibly be required to be a resident at the camp for the summer. Housing and board are often part of the pay for this summer job. Summer camp jobs range widely in pay. Some jobs will pay by the summer, at just $1000 or less while other camps will allow students to earn $3000 or more for summer work.
