Skittles Bubble Gum is, without argument, the best bubble gum on the market. I’m talking about taste here. As for its qualities as a component in your ultimate plan to win the World Bubble Gum Bubble Blowing Contest, I can’t say for sure. Actually, I prefer to use bubble gum as chewing gum; not a big bubble blower am I. But there’s neither here nor there for this product review is targeted toward telling you about Skittles Bubble Gum as a flavor enhancer.
Did you know that if you were to chew gum every waking moment of the year and did nothing else for exercise and ate exactly as you otherwise normally would you would lose at least ten pounds. Fascinating trivia, to be sure, but again it has little to do with my review of Skittles Bubble Gum. Or so it would seem. Because, of course, in order to chew bubble gum every waking hour of the day one of the things that would be required is that the gum retain its flavor. As you may or may not know, Skittles Bubble Gum is based upon the popular Skittles chewable candy. So what we’re talking about here is gum that is flavored to taste like these popular fruits: strawberry, orange, lemon, grape and lime. If you already enjoy the sweet fruity taste of Skittle candy-or the sweet fruity taste of Skittlebrau beer-then you cannot help but enjoy Skittles Bubble Gum. Of course, those flavors are for the regular brand. For those who enjoy a more acerbic tang to their bubble gum, there is always Skittles Xtreme Fruit Bubble Gum: wild cherry, tangerine, blue raspberry, watermelon and green apple. Frankly, I prefer the Skittles Xtreme-not because I’m an extreme guy, mind you; let’s face it, the definition of an extreme sport is one in which you win if you manage to end up on your feet-but because I do so enjoy the sour aspects of life.
But that’s another article entire.
So what makes Skittles Bubble Gum the best gum in the world today? And, of course, when I say the world today I am talking about the mainstream; surely there is an underground radical bubble gum movement that makes truly subversive bubble gum that enriches not only your taste buds, but also your mind. There are two qualities that a superior bubble gum must possess: flavor and lastability. Yes, that last word is really a word, look it up! What you want from a bubble gum is a flavor-filled taste that makes you want to cry out, “It’s like a party in mouth and everyone’s invited!” Well, Skittles Bubble Gum will make you cry out like that; so be sure you are around friends the first time you try it. Whether you go for original or the Xtreme Fruit variety the taste is an assault upon your senses, filling your mouth with the taste of fruity goodness that is either pretty sour-not really extreme-or just sweet.
As for lastability-it is so a word-you won’t be disappointed here either. The interesting thing about Skittles Bubble Gum is that even when you grab a handful and start feasting on conflicting fruity flavors like strawberry, grape and lime the result isn’t a disgusting fruit salad that it would be if you were actually eating this concoction. The flavor will continue well into the chewing portion of the program whether you pick out only the red cherry flavored gum or the toss in one of each color. Sure, there may be better bubble gums on the market if what you’re after is the ability to blow a bubble the size of Donald Trump’s ego, but if you choose gum for flavor then you can’t go wrong with Skittles Bubble Gum.
Of course, actually finding the gum presents a whole other problem.
