Which Skittles Flavor Are You?

Bubble Gum, Skittles

Skittles are an oddity amongst candies; with a handful of them you can create sweet or sour combinations and if you are daring enough you can get some of the specialty flavors and make even more bold and daring combinations. Recently there has been a growing wave of ‘personality profiles’ regarding Skittles. You are only asked one single question, what Skittles flavor are you? You can use any combination of Skittles that you care to and as many as you like to create the perfect “U Flavor”.

Mine was as follows: Wild Cherry, two Melon Berry and one grape. The combination is pretty sweet but there is a slight taste of tart when the flavors start to clash. In case you aren’t up on your Skittle Speak, I have listed the flavors and the batches that they can be found in below.

Original: Grape, Cherry, Lime, Orange, Strawberry
Wild Berry: Raspberry, Wild Cherry, Strawberry, Berry Punch, Melon Berry
Tropical: Banana Berry, Kiwi Lime, Strawberry Watermelon, Mango Peach, Passion Punch
Sour: Blue Raspberry, Lemon, Strawberry, Orange, Grape
Smoothie: Peach Pear, Lemon Berry, Orange Mango, Strawberry Banana, Mixed Berry
Ice Cream: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Caramel Ripple, Orange Vanilla Swirl
Extreme Fruit: Blue Raspberry, Green Apple, Tangerine, Watermelon, Wild Cherry
Easter Mix: Grape, Cherry, Lime, Orange, Strawberry

To make things even more interesting, here is a tidbit about a flavor assortment that is no longer in production but warrants a mention. Carnival Skittles: Cotton Candy, Green Slushy, Red Licorice, Candy Apple and Bubble Gum. These were a limited edition Skittle and are extremely hard to find. If you do find a pack, chances are you won’t want to eat them as they will be grossly outdated. This is different from the Carnival Flavor Bubble Gum.

If there are seven types of Skittles currently being made that means that there is a total of 35 different flavors. Even though some of them have similar names, they all have unique flavors. If you had an unlimited supply of Skittles (and time) you could come up with a mind boggling 42,875 combinations from two and three flavors. To make things even more interesting, if you used five different flavors you could make 1,500,625 different flavor combinations. Remember there are thirty five flavors to pick from so if you are planning on doing this experiment, you better set aside a few months.

So there are Skittles fruit chews but have you checked out the lip balm and bubble gum? The lip balm is a little on the gummy side (no pun intended) and comes in flavors like Strawberry Watermelon, Berry Punch and Lime. The gum only comes in one flavor, Xtreme Fruit Skittles. It’s a lot like chewing on a Skittles candy for a long time but it has a definite bubble gum taste to it. This shouldn’t be confused with the Carnival Fun Bubble Gum; this has five flavors to choose from with some very tasty ones like Cotton Candy, Pink Lemonade and Candy Apple. If you are a candy junky and like Skittles in general then you will love the lip balm and bubble gum flavors.
