As one of the fastest growing sports in the world, Rock Climbing has found a place among many areas of the country and the world where there may not be anything to climb other than trees or telephone poles. Miami is one of those such places and is home to X-treme: The Rock Climbing Center of Miami. Located in the Kendall area of Miami, just minutes from the Florida Turnpike, and the 826, X-treme has become a place where anyone in South Florida can go for a fun time.
X-treme has been developing programs for over 10 years that cater to anyone who is interested in the outdoors, and in particular Rock Climbing. People are drawn to indoor rock climbing because it has the element of uncertainty without a whole lot of risk. Because indoor rock climbing is done in a controlled environment, the safety and security of its participants can be constantly monitored. X-treme is no exception to this rule. The staff at X-treme are a fantastic, helpful, exuberant group of people who strive to make a safe and fun environment for everyone who comes through the doors.
X-treme offers many different programs ranging from private training to large corporate team building events, from yoga to birthday parties. X-treme also hosts a number of climbing competitions throughout the year. If that’s not enough there’s more. X-treme also offers a full retail shop and clothing area that features many items from the top manufacturers in the climbing industry.
The upstairs area of X-treme is dedicated to the full service fitness area, inclusive of free weights, elliptical machines, stair steppers & stationary bikes. Yoga is also housed upstairs at X-treme as well as the 2 separate birthday party rooms and the locker bay (to keep all of your belongings safe while you are enjoying yourself downstairs – locks can be rented at the front desk). If you have come to X-treme to just be a supportive voice for friends or family, seat yourself on the bleachers in the loft, or in the lounge area on the couches. And don’t forget to take advantage of the free WiFi internet.
Hungry? X-treme offers a line of healthy bars and drinks and some sweets as well to get you through your workout. If that is not enough, X-treme is conveniently located near a good selection of restaurants. Food can be delivered from many of these establishments, so if you don’t want to leave, it’s not a problem. Just call up one of your favorite eateries, and have them bring your food to you.
