Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain, Cherry Tart: Review

I am not much of a lipstick junkie. I find that colors never appear on my lips the way they appear through the package. I also find that many of them don’t last long, and many of them feel gross, and sticky.

Out of every lipstick Ive bought in my time, I can only say about 3% of them were worth buying.

When my cousin recently told me about Revlons new Lip Stains, I was interested. However, looking at her lips, I noticed no color.

“So umm, if it’s so good, why ain’t you wearin it?”

She replies, “I don’t have it on now!”

She then reaches into her Prada (I call it her Frauda. The Fake Prada.) and pulls out a nice looking tube of what appeared to be gloss. It was called Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain, Cherry Tart. Cute name, cute tube.

The color itself appeared to be a deep red. The gloss, or I should say, stain, looked like jelly. The texture through the tube sort of grossed me out and reminded me of jellyfish or red colored snot.

I watched as she applied. A roller ball. Interesting.

The color went on like gloss, as I imagined it would. The color was also a lot less ‘red’ then I had imagined. The tube makes it look like a deep blood red, but when applied it takes on a more subtle lighter look.

She dabbed, and went to hand me the tube.

I was hoping it didn’t plump up my lips. I like my small lips the way they are. Even though it looks like I’m missing a top lip they are so small, I love them. Gives me character!

No plumper’s in there is how she got me to apply it.

I ran the roller ball across my lips, and did that smack thing. It was easy to apply, just like lipstick, or gloss. The texture was smooth, and semi silky feeling, which was actually relatively nice.

I then looked in a mirror. A nice subtle light coat of glassy red covered my lips. I liked it.

Put To The Test:

I waited for Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain, Cherry Tart to dry on my lips before engaging in eating, smoking, and drinking.

I had a feeling once I had a sip of something, the stain would not stand a chance. Low and behold, it stood put. No sign of any color on my glass. A small sign of color on my cigarette though, and by the time I ate, the color pretty much retired. As time went on, and the stain wore thin, it also made my lips feel extremely dry.

Overall:

With active lips (eatin, drinkin, smokin) Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain, Cherry Tart doesn’t stand much of a chance. With your mouth shut for the majority of the day Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain, Cherry Tart has a chance of lasting for a few decent hours.

Recommended:

Yes. Although the stain does not last well when you are eating, it does a pretty good job for when you’re not. The only con, is that it leaves lips feeling dry as it is about to expire. A quick touch up with the roller ball, and you’re fine though.

Where To Buy:

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain, Cherry Tart can be found in local drug stores for around $11.99.
