When I first noticed Revlon’s Colorstay Liquid Lip on the shelf at the store I was pretty skeptical. My thinking was that a liquid lip product sounded very sticky to me! However, there were lots of shades to choose from and in browsing put a package in my buggy. I am now a full-time user of this product, I love it!
Packaging
Revlon’s Colorstay Liquid Lip comes in a long, skinny round circular tube. The tube is much slimmer than a normal lipstick case and longer. It is about 3 to 4 inches long as compared to 2 inches for regular lipstick. Revlon ColorStay Liquid Lip has a gold screw on top that when opened up pulls out the lip wand which has a spongy applicator on the tip. The remaining round tube is clear and the shade of your lipstick shows through, giving you an idea of how much product is left in the tube. This is a nice feature, letting you know when it is time to replace the product before you totally run out of lipstick. The tube contains .14 Fl. oz. of lip product. It lasts longer than you would think, it would. I have been averaging 2 months per tube before it is time to replace it.
How Does It Perform?
Applying the lipstick is very easy. It comes with a pull-out wand. The end of the wand contains a sponge that is absorbed with the liquid lipstick. When opening Revlon Colorstay Liquid Lip it is necessary to pump the wand up and down for 2 or 3 times for the sponge to fully absorb the lipstick. Then you will apply the lipstick to your lips.
Revlon Colorstay Liquid Lip goes on wet and shiny. I was surprised to find that Revlon Colorstay Liquid Lip dried quickly and did not feel sticky. In fact, it dries so well you forget that you have any lipstick on. I have found myself reaching for my tube of Revlon ColorStay Lipstick to reapply only to find that my lips look just fine and the color is still there!
Revlon ColorStay Liquid Lip is a very long-wearing lipstick. I also liked the fact that Revlon ColorStay Liquid Lip did not dry out my lips. It kept my lips moisturized and feeling smooth and sexy. I really like the way this product performs! You can’t beat it for the price!
Shades Available
Revlon ColorStay Liquid Lip comes in a variety of shades in mauves, pink, reds, and browns. My favorites are usually in the “brown” family such as Spiced Tea and Iced Coffee. It is also available in Punch, Malted, Cosmopolitan, Champagne, Blush Wine, Brandy, Chianti, Merlot, Sangria, Bubbly, Cordial, Latte, and Pink Lemonade. Price is very reasonable at $3.99 to $4.99 a package at most drug stores that carry the Revlon line.
The Score
I give Revlon Colorstay Liquid Lip an A++ for performance. I love the way it goes on and dries to a flawless finish. It is long-wearing and doesn’t need a touch-up every hour. It is inexpensive yet out performs other lipsticks that cost twice the price. Super good lipstick for the price!
