Review of Three C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine Flavors

C.o. Bigelow

I love to keep my lips soft by using lip balms and glosses. The latest brand of lip balm I tried was not just one, but three flavors of C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine: Black Cherry Cola, Vanilla Cola and Orange Cream. These lip balms are made by C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries in New York. They are also available at Bath and Body Works stores.

After I ran out of Burt’s Bee lip balm, which I do like, I was open to trying an alternative. That’s when I found C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine. I heard great things about this product and it was on my list of products to try at Bath and Body Works.

During my trip to Bath and Body Works I was fortunate to find the C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine were on sale for $2. Each .5 ounce tube is normally priced at $7.50 so I had to purchase a few to take advantage of the great deal. I bought the C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine in three flavors: Black Cherry Soda, Vanilla Cola and Orange Cream.

I purchased the three flavors for variety. The packaging says that each tube is made with 100% natural flavor and no artificial colors. The product isn’t tested on animals. It claims to add moisture, shine and freshen your breath. I reviewed them for myself.

First I’ll start with my favorite flavor of the three- Black Cherry Soda.

C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine Black Cherry Soda. (No. 1302) This balm is packaged in cherry red colored tube. It really smells like black cherry soda. And it taste a bit like it too. The ingredients includes .75 percent peppermint oil. You can feel the peppermint oil on your lips.

C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine Vanilla Cola. (No. 1303) Vanilla comes in an off white colored tube. I like its cola flavor and the strong scent of vanilla. This flavor came in second out of the three I tried. The Vanilla Cola contains .5 percent peppermint oil.

C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine Orange Cream. (No. 1300) This balm is packaged in a yellow tube. This really does smell like orange cream. It has .5 percent peppermint oil.

Each of these lip balms were easy to apply and glided on smoothly. Each also added a bit of shine. I sometimes applied them before or after my lip stick for added shine.

C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine comes in a variety of flavors including spearmint, root beer and cinnamint The company also has a balm called My Favorite Lip Balm and Mentha Lip Tints.

Overall this lip balm is great for moisturizing the lips and keeping them soft. They taste great, but I wouldn’t say they freshen the breathe. The variety of C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine flavors gives you some options depending on your mood. The size of the tubes are small enough that you can easily fit one or more in your purse or pocket.
