Review: L’Oreal’s Age Perfect Makeup – Foundation

Even Skin Tone, Foundation Brush, Makeup Foundation, Skin Patches

Hey there everyone! Today we are going to take a look at L’oreal’s Age Perfect Makeup. In case you are wondering, this is a foundation. Right now we are going to take a look at the coverage, application, formula texture, and color. Let’s get started!

Coverage:

This is not a full coverage foundation, so if you are looking to cover scars, freckles, and so forth – this foundation is not for you. If you are looking to cover some redness and even out your skin tone, this foundation will cover that. Stick to applying a single coat of this foundation to your skin because anymore than one will cake up and give you a fake look.

Tips for best application coverage: Use a large foundation brush with tightly knit bristles. Apply small amounts on your T-zone, chine, bridge of your nose, and cheeks. Blend all together thoroughly and gently wipe skin with makeup sponge.

Color:

I would say that there is a wide variety in colors, but not as many as other products have. I mainly see medium and darker shades available, but this doesn’t mean there aren’t lighter shades out there. I have medium colored skin and I use Nude Beige 705 in this foundation color and it blends well without leaving an orange tint. So I would say coloring is natural and easy on the eyes.

Application:

I was not very impressed with application life. I got approx. six hours of coverage and after that everything started to crease and fade. This isn’t always the easiest foundation to apply because it is a cream and does require a little more time vs. powder foundation that you can pat on while on the go. So the fact that you do need to touch up throughout the day is a little bit of a bummer.

Once again, you get a caked up look if you apply too many coats. This is not to cover acne blemishes, freckles, etc. Use this foundation to even skin tone or you will be disappointed. This does not accentuate wrinkles or fine lines, but does bring more attention to dry skin patches, so be careful there.

Formula texture:

I love the feel of this foundation. It has more of a whipped feeling to it rather than a solid feel. Once applied to the skin, you don’t feel it; there is not cakey mask like feel. While this does not cake around wrinkles and such, it does crease on the lid or under the lid after a couple hours, so watch for that.

If you have normal dry skin all over, I would be careful when using this product and apply a lot of moisturizer before apply the foundation because it clings to dry skin. If you have normal skin and don’t have blemishes that you would like to hide, this foundation would work great. And if you have oily skin, I would be careful and apply a primer before apply the foundation because it may make your skin look extremely oily if you don’t.

This is a good foundation for its price if you know how to apply it and take your skin type into consideration. If
you’re not sure if your skin type and this foundation will work together, make sure to read the paragraph above and that will hopefully answer your question.
