Moen has been creating plumbing fixtures for years now and have come up with not only elegantly designed and great looking faucets but ones that add significant features that are great. Add style to the great quality craftsmanship of a well made faucet and you can get a really elegant looking fixture with useful features like a high arc faucet for more room under the water stream or moving the faucet further from the rear of the sink.
Moving the faucet further from the back adds to the ease that you have when washing your hands or wanting to get things under the water like a cup. These types of thoughtful ideas into the design of a simple household fixture are some of the reasons why I like Moen and their quality products.
I now have Moen products throughout my home and enjoy every time I get a new one to install and try out. The features are a bit different every time and I have come to respect the designs and how they add to the enjoyment of their use. The previous faucet that I had in my bathroom had a high arc to add more room under the water stream for an easier time washing your hands or even delicate things.
The Moen Rothbury takes this same concept of moving away from the traditional and from the back of the sink for a better way to get under the faucet. The Moen Rothbury is a nice looking faucet with it’s squared off spout and even aerator flow area that does not stick out from the spout.
The Rothbury comes in several finishes as well as the 4″ centers and adjustable 8″ to 16″ centers. There is also a full line of matching bathroom accessories and tub/shower faucets available for a matching set in the entire bathroom. The Moen Rothbury line of bathroom faucets comes as a complete line for several different types of installation options. The Rothbury line also includes fixtures like the robe hook, towel bars and even a matching toilet flush lever.
The Rothbury is a nice elegant looking faucet with the fantastic quality of Moen built throughout including the Moen lifetime warranty. The Moen Rothbury comes with all the parts of the faucet including the drain assembly as well as the cartridge replacement tool.
One idea I have to keep the tool in a place you will remember for the particular faucet it belongs to is to hang the tool from a string off a faucet part such as the hose underneath the sink. This way when you look to shut off the valves under the sink to replace a leaky faucet the tool is right there for you. And for that replacement of the cartridge Moen warranties their faucets for life from leaks so it means a simple email or letter to Moen with your proof of purchase to receive a new cartridge if one develops a leak.
For the life of the home you install the faucet in you can get replacement parts free of charge from Moen just by telling them it is leaking, that is one reason the Moen products may be a little more expensive to purchase. Another reason the Moen brand may be a little more expensive is the overall craftsmanship and quality that goes into the products from the beginning.
Installing the Moen Rothbury was easy and I really enjoy doing these little jobs around my home even when things go wrong. Nothing went wrong here though as installation took about an hour from start to finish with replacing the drain assembly as well as the faucet and installing two shut off valves for the supply lines. Since I have replaced a few faucets with the reviewing of their great products I installed shut off valves for the convenience of having a way to only turn the water off right at the sink.
After installing the Moen Rothbury the one faucet knob had a bit of space between the metal cone below the handle and tightening the cone shaped ring was a simple matter of turning the ring while holding the handle. This tightening adjusts the pressure of the handle on the rest of the faucet so if you install a faucet such as the Rothbury and notice that the handle is a bit tight on the faucet or if it loose and turns less smoothly all you need to do is tighten or loosen this ring while holding the faucet handle.
The Moen Rothbury works very well and the flow of water is a nice aerated regular flow for gentle washing and the convenience of the faucet spigot further from the back of the sink. This placement of the faucet spigot ensures you have plenty of room under the flow of water to wash and use your faucet for more enjoyment of your product.
The Moen Rothbury and other Moen products are not just nice, well made products but they add to the quality of life in little ways so you have a better home lifestyle as well as an easier time with choirs in your day to day routine. I highly recommend the Moen Rothbury for an elegant looking and well made faucet for your bathroom.
