Natural Remedies for Relieving Your Infant’s Gas

There is no doubt that an infant’s gas is probably both painful to your infant and annoyance to you when you are trying to sleep at night. Have you not be able to find a cure for your infant’s gas? If so, you should definitely consider trying out a natural method to help relieve your infant’s gas. Here, we will take a closer look at some natural remedies which may be able to help you and your infant out.

Rub the Feet
One method which may prove to be very effective that is often recommended by pediatric nurses and doctors is to rub your baby’s feet. You are probably wondering whether or not what you are reading is right. Well, it is. Rubbing your baby’s feet from the heel to the tips of the toes can help relieve stomach gas. Why? There are a number of different acupressure points located on the foot which are known to be effective for relieving all types of pain.

Pat the Back
One way to help relieve your infant’s gas is to lay him or her on the stomach, with back on the air. Then, gently pack the infant’s back. This can help release any gas that may be trapped inside the baby.

Rub the Belly
Lay your infant own on her back, as though you were going to change her diaper. Then, gently rub her belly. Apply very light pressure from your fingers onto your infant’s belly, right around the bellybutton area. This should help her release any gas that may be trapped inside the stomach and is waiting to be released.

Peppermint Water
One great way to relieve gas in your infant is to have him or her drink peppermint water. Boil water and wait until it cools down a bit. Once it does, add a small piece of peppermint. After it is cool enough for your infant to drink, give it to him or her in a bottle. This should help relieve any gas in the stomach, as peppermint is known to be highly effective for curing stomach gas.

Canned Peaches or Sugar
A food which you can give your baby which may help relieve his or her gas is canned peaches. Why canned peaches? Well, the sugary syrup that they have been soaked in is known to be effective for relieving gas. Sugar in general is known for relieving gas, so if you have any type of sugary solution that you can mix with water, this would be a great idea to help relieve an older baby’s stomach gas.

Slow it Down
Have you noticed that your infant has been eating a lot faster lately? How about drinking out of her bottle fast? Both of these things could be to blame when it comes to your baby experiencing gas. Have your infant slow down when eating or drinking. If your baby has been eating or drinking more than usual, this also may be the reason for his or her gas. If you have introduced any new foods or liquids to your baby’s diet, remove this for a week and then add it back for another week to see if it may be to blame.
