Natural Calm: “Nature’s Stress Relief” Formula Said to Restore Magnesium Levels

Low Thyroid, Magnesium

Did you know that next to water, oxygen and basic food, magnesium is the most important element your body needs? I didn’t.

I was waiting for my prescription to be filled at Cook’s Pharmacy in Shavertown, Pa. when a brochure caught my eye. “Nature’s Stress Relief” it said. Stress. Relief? That was enough to get me reading about Peter Gillham’s Natural Calm. $26 and a short ride home later; I enjoyed my first glass of this formula. The benefits soon followed.

Magnesium

Magnesium activates over 300 different bodily processes including digestion, muscle function, energy production, creation of new cells, activation of B vitamins and more. It also assists with functions of the heart, kidneys, adrenals, brain and nervous system.

Magnesium Depletion

According to Gillham, 90-95 percent of the population has unhealthy magnesium levels. Here are some symptoms: (I counted more than half of these as problems affecting me. This is what sold me on the product.)

–Low energy

–Fatigue

–PMS

–Inability to sleep

–Body tension

–Headaches

–Muscle tension

–Backaches

–Anxiousness

–Nervousness

–Irritability

–Calcification of organs

–Weakening of bones

–Heart-related difficulties

What causes magnesium depletion? Many things, including stress, caffeine, sugar, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, high perspiration, low thyroid function, diabetes, chronic pain, diuretics and diets high in carbs, sodium or calcium.

The Product

Peter Gillham’s Natural Calm is available in selected pharmacies and health-food stores. The product has three purposes: Relieves stress, balances calcium intake and restores healthy magnesium levels.

The body needs calcium, but too much can pull magnesium out of the body, so Natural Calm balances the body’s calcium intake. The formula does this by gradually dissolving calcium deposits.

Natural Calm is a 100 percent water-soluble magnesium powder. To use, one to three tablespoons of the powder is dissolved into boiling water-kind of like a tea. It can be taken at any time of the day. It comes in several flavors like berry and orange.

My Experience

After reading the brochure in the pharmacy, as noted above, I was instantly sold. I hadn’t really known all the magnesium did for the body, and I felt somewhat ignorant. I had been depriving my body of an essential mineral! No wonder I was so stressed, lethargic and crampy!

The tall plastic canister was priced at $26. I thought it was pricey, but I figured it was worth a shot. I mean, for a better night’s sleep coupled with all the other benefits, it was an investment I thought could pay off.

The first time I made it, I did have to get used to the taste. It was like a hot citrus drink, which was unlike anything I ever tasted. Not bad, but something I still had to get used to. I started with one tablespoon, so the flavor was faint. Aside from the benefits of the magnesium supplement, drinking the warm beverage is calming and warming-great for winding down in the evening.

After a few weeks of using Natural Calm and moving up to three tablespoons (a much more powerful taste), I did feel better overall. I felt more energetic and my head felt clear. I found myself being able to concentrate better at work because of the heightened awareness it gave me. Guess I was magnesium deficient after all.

I also have not had a headache. I frequently got those caffeine headaches or tension headaches, but not since I have been taking this. While I still have trouble falling asleep when I try to go to bed early, I can report that I sleep better.

The one thing I was not aware of: Magnesium is a laxative. That said, I did not anticipate the urgent need to go #2 a short while after taking. Nonetheless, as strange as it may sound, I do feel quite good after that. One thing to note is that if you take three tablespoons of Natural Calm, it’s best to do so a few hours before bed so that the laxative part of it’s benefits don’t catch you off guard in public!

The $26 bottle is still not gone after one month, so I feel the price was worth it. The bottle does last a while, and the benefits of Natural Calm, a magnesium supplement were well worth the price.
