Movie Theaters in New Jersey

Amc Theaters, Family Friendly Movies

The season of Hollywood’s newest released movies will be approaching us as summer 2009 comes into full swing. The medley of movies is sure to contain some horror, suspense, children’s movies, love and romance and of course all American family favorites. Are you looking for the best theaters around to check out the flicks? I have a guide to some of the best theaters in the NJ area.

Menlo Park 12 Cinemas host 12 theaters that are guaranteed to have the latest movies. It is located in the Menlo Park Mall so you will have plenty to do before or after the movie. There are plenty of local restaurants like the Rainforest Café, Charlie Browns and the Cheese Cake Factory to choose from if you are planning for a dinner and a movie. It is great for families with children that are middle school aged children or older. I do not recommend this theater for families with young children as the theater tends to draw large pools of teenagers. The theater is clean and they have a good selection of show times.

Regal Movie Theaters hosts 16 theaters that include Hollywood films as well as a selection of foreign films. It is located on Rt 1 in North Brunswick. The theater is very clean and has all of the concessions you would expect from what is a fairly new theater. Stadium seating, comfortable seats and great climate control. The Regal group has a Free Family Film Festival every year in the summer. They show PG & G rated movies that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Of course the show times are during the Weekday mornings and seating is on a first come first serve basis. Visit http://www.regmovies.com/nowshowing/freefamilyfilm.aspx for details and show times.

Clearview Cinemas hosts theaters that are small and intimate to large and massive locations include Aberdeen, NJ. The theaters are kept clean and host all of the modern amenities. Clearview hosts a special program with the local cable company which allows you to see movies for free on Tuesday nights. They also have a summer kids club starting July 2 running for eight weeks by which children can see family friendly movies for free on Thursday mornings at 10:30 am. They also have a Birthday package where children can celebrate their birthday in a private theater. Visit http://www.clearviewcinemas.com/kids_club_2009.shtml for details.

AMC Theaters has been in the theater business for quite some time and they have good presence in the urban markets. Conveniently located in New Brunswick, NJ on Route 1, the theaters are state of the art and suited to urban populations with late night show offerings with a broad selection of movie show times. The company has deep roots with community involvement. The concession stands are fully stocked with all the popular theater menu items. Visit www.amctheatres.com.

Delsea Drive In Theater the only drive in theater experience left in New Jersey is located in Vineland, NJ. Enjoy the latest movies under the stars, reminiscent of the yester years. I have brought my children and they had such a goodtime. They were amazed with the experience. The theater charges a $7 food permit per car for individuals choosing to bring their own theater snacks. Much of the revenue generated from the ticket sales goes to the movie distributors. Visit http://www.delseadrive-in.com/rules.php for details, directions and show times.

Theater selections have increased over the years and with so many options it is no wonder why theaters are so busy. This summer take advantage of the free family movies that many of the theaters are hosting as well as some of the newer movies. The movie theaters are a great place to spend the summer.
