Labyrinths in Texas

Labyrinth, Weatherford

Labyrinths come in many shapes and sizes, but they are all designed to do the same thing: act as a meditation and/or prayer tool. Some places to walk a labyrinth in Texas are provided below.

Labyrinths represent wholeness, and a journey into the center of a person’s being. The labyrinth at the Cathedral of Chartres is perhaps the most famous labyrinth, but it is by no means the only one. They can be found all across the country, in a variety of sizes, shapes, and construction materials.

Labyrinths should not be confused with mazes, which have dead ends and false paths. There is only one path to the center of a labyrinth, and one out, and that path is clearly marked. When you walk a labyrinth, you want to be calm and peaceful, rather than trying to figure out the puzzle.

According to Labyrinth Locator, there are more than 140 labyrinths in Texas alone. Because of the large number, this list will not be complete, but a representative sample of some of the places to walk a labyrinth in Texas.
