Since I became a Beauty Consultant for Aloette in October 2002, I’ve been trying all sorts of skin care and cosmetic products so I can say how Aloette compares. I have been asked how Aloette compares with Avon and Mary Kay, most of all.
A very good friend of mine, Julie Watanabe, is a Mary Kay representative. We constantly order from each other. When I mentioned to her that I wanted to try Avon’sCellusculpt, she told me that I should try Visibly Fit Body Lotion from Mary Kay first. Of course, I agreed. Even at the price of $22, compared to Avon’s $15 for Cellusculpt, I went ahead and gave it a try.
Julie told me that I should apply it twice a day (at least) to my “problem areas.” Well, my whole body is a problem area… I chose just to apply it to my hips and thighs and see what happened.
The first thing I noticed was the scent. It is very floral and quite strong going on. However, it lightens up rather quickly. You’re left with a light, floral scent which actually lasts quite a while. It is a fresh, clean scent that I don’t mind at all.
Visibly Fit Body Lotion absorbed into my skin rather quickly. It left my skin feeling smooth and silky, not greasy and heavy. The smoothness lasted all day. I’m glad, because the product description boasts, “each application provides immediate moisturization, leaving your skin soft, supple and hydrated up to 10 hours.” I hate when products claim to do something that they just don’t do.
I suppose that’s a good thing, because I didn’t see any results in my “problem areas,” except for smoother skin. No where does it say that Visibly Fit Body Lotion will help with cellulite and such. Cellusculpt does. Visibly Fit only says that it will help reduce the visible signs of aging.” I guess I should have read about the product more before purchasing it.
Don’t get me wrong– It’s a great body lotion. But, it’s $22. I can get body lotion just as good from Aloette for $12, or Bath and Body Works for $9.50. The results I seen (or haven’t seen, in this case) does not justify paying the $22 price.
Mary Kay doesn’t claim that Visibly Fit will help with cellulite or any other “problem areas.” I’ve looked on the website and through the catalogs. It does what it says it will do: hydrate your skin for up to 10 hours and help reduce the visible signs of aging. It’s great lotion. But, not for $22.
