Preparation

Both top-of-stove and microwave directions are on the package. I cooked mine on the stove.

Need: Medium saucepan
Measuring cup
Water
Vegetable oil-optional (I did not use)
Package Knorr Fiesta Sides Spanish Rice

Put two cups of water and contents of package into a medium saucepan. 1 tbsp. vegetable oil can be added, if desired. Bring the contents of the saucepan to a boil. Stir mixture, then reduce heat and simmer covered for 7 minutes or until rice is tender. Remove from stove and let stand about 2 minutes, then stir and serve.

Main Dish Recipe

Spanish Skillet Supper

Need: 12-inch nonstick skillet
1 lb ground beef or turkey
Measuring cup
Water
1 can (8 3/4 ounces) whole kernel corn undrained or similar amount frozen corn
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
Package Knorr Fiesta Sides Spanish Rice

Brown ground beef/turkey in skillet; drain. Add 1 2/3 cup water; bring to a boil. Stir in corn and Knorr Fiesta Sides Spanish Rice; again, bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer the mixture uncovered, stirring as needed. Simmer 10 minutes or until rice is tender.

Stir in 1/2 cup of shredded cheese until melted; top with remaining 1/4 cup cheese.

This makes 4 servings.

For my first time using this product, I made the Spanish Skillet Supper. The dish received my household’s seal of approval, including three grandchildren who asked for seconds. The taste was good as was texture and appearance.

I would have been happier had the sodium content been less than it is, and ecstatic had no monosodium glutamate been listed as an ingredient.

This is not a product that will find its way to my table on a regular basis, but in a pinch for time or company arriving unannounced, Knorr Fiesta Sides Spanish Rice will be in my cupboard, ready to answer the call.
