The jungle is a magnificent place to recreate for your own personal party. Here are some inexpensive ways to keep your guests entertained and feel like they are in the jungle!

Jungle Themed Invitations – You can create some awesome, unique jungle themed invitations by using construction paper, animal cracker boxes, online printouts or and scrapbooking . Use a light green construction paper, stencil on a jungle theme, and include all the party details. Also consider cutting the invitations in the shape of a leaf.

Jungle Theme Party Decorations – Turning your house or backyard into the jungle is simple because all you really need is a lot of green. You can cover the walls in a green backdrop. This doesn’t even have to be expensive. Just use the green plastic table covers. Consider fake palm trees, green light covers to and lots of leaves. Place cutouts of animals on the walls. Hang monkeys and butterflies from the ceiling. Use brown, blue, and green crepe paper to string around the room. It’s also very easy to find animal print balloons. Make exotic looking flowers out of tissue paper. It’s easy to find a CD with nature music; look for one with jungle noises. Place some tiki torches and citronella candles in the backyard. Have a small bonfire.

Jungle Theme Party Dress – Ask your guests to dress as if they’re ready for safari. Iif you do have friends who just couldn’t find anything to wear, be prepared and have a stash of animal teeth necklaces or even safari hats. Wear animal print clothes or even a funny giraffe hat. You can dress as a flower or even your favorite jungle animal. Have some face paint on hand so guests can opt to paint their face in a tribal or animal pattern.

Jungle Themed Party Food – Go for food that can be cooked over a fire such as shrimp or beef skewers. Place bowls of animal crackers around the house. Other ideas for food include banana chips, trail mix, and even Cheetos. Cut a watermelon in half, hollow it out and use it as a fruit bowl. As for drinks, consider spiked and non-spiked punch bowls. Try your hand at bartending and offer some exotic cocktails and umbrella drinks.

Jungle Theme Party Games – Set up a maze in your backyard and call it “Lost in the Jungle.” Do this after guests have had a few drinks. Use cardboard boxes as walls or simply tie rope to trees to make the maze. You can also set up a jungle obstacle course. Make sure to include a ‘swinging vine’ by attaching rope to a tree in the backyard to which guests must swing over water. You can also have ‘tiki torch’ races (you can use a candle) where guests must race with candles in their hand. The object is to get to the end of the finish line with their torch still lit. If it goes out, they have to start from the beginning with a new lit torch.
