Women are the number 1 group of gift basket givers. Men don’t usually give a hoot but when you want to give a man a gift and find yourself running out of ideas consider giving him a gift basket filled with his favorite manly-man gifts. Here are some great ideas for putting together a men’s gift basket.
Come Up with a Theme for the Gift Basket
If the man you will be giving a gift basket to is into comic books or video games fill his gift basket with those things. Line it with the comic section from the newspaper, add a bobble-head doll of his favorite comic character, find a desk calendar with images from his favorite video game etc. Come up with a poker basket filled with poker chips, cards and snacks. If your man is a barbecue fanatic then fill his fantasies and give him a barbecue basket. Whatever theme you decide on, go overboard and make it noticeable.
Think He-man Woman Hater’s Club
Whatever you do, don’t present a man with a gift basket wrapped in pink cellophane. In fact, instead of using a basket be creative and consider using a tool box or tackle box. You can fill each compartment of the tool box or tackle box with different male orientated items.
Fill it with Hardware
Men love things like glue, magnets, flashing LED lights, wire cutters and such so instead of putting a new tie inside his gift basket add things like hammers and loc-tite. If he’s really handy and loves to work around the house fill a tool belt instead of a basket or toolbox.
The Way to a Man’s Heart is Through His Stomach
There’s nothing new about that statement. Fill your guys’ gift basket with monster cookies, slim jims, beer and peanuts. If your guy has a favorite candy or treat, load his gift basket – tool box – tackle box with it. Stuff his gift basket with pre-paid gift cards from several fast food joints or his favorite deli.
Men Like to Smell Good Too
In addition to food and hardware think about adding some of your guys’ favorite cologne or body spray. Dump in a few sample size bottles of Axe body spray or other types of smell good products so that he can try out a few different smells. Make him want to smell sexy and he’ll reward you by actually smelling sexy.
Personalize It
Before you fill the basket, toolbox, tool belt, tackle box or whatever container you are going to use, add a personalized touch to it first. Don’t go and get all girly on it though because your guy won’t use it. Add some pin-up photos (clean ones, not dirty porn ones) on the inside of the lid, decorate it with Harley Davidson stickers or slap some Beer slogans on it. Think about what he likes and make it personal for him in a way that will make him proud to display it.
The whole point of giving a gift basket is to be able to give several gifts at once as a single gift so whatever you fill your basket with, make it things he’ll like and not what you’ll like. Think like a guy but present it like a woman and you won’t go wrong.
