Siamese fighting fish can live in just about any size bowl that you choose. They also do not need cleaned very often since they are relatively small, and do not ingest large amounts of food. The male Siamese fighting fish is usually what is chosen since they come with much larger tails and are much brighter in color. Find a good food. Siamese fighting fish are usually not picky eaters but they do require a certain type of food to keep them healthy and bright in color. When you go to your local pet store to buy your Siamese fighting fish you will find Betta food below the fish. This is the right food choice for you. If you are confused since the package does say Betta do not hesitate in getting this food, Betta is just another name for the male Siamese fighting fish. Betta food comes in pellets and flakes and that choice is up to you. Flakes and pellets are both the same in keeping your fish healthy and happy. Most people usually choose pellets though since they do not break apart in the fish bowl and cause a mess. Pellets are also easily digested and there is much less waste to be excreted from your fish. Whichever food you decide to go with, just make sure it is for a male Siamese fighting fish and not a community tropical fish.
