How to Make Moist Cake With Apple Sauce!

BUY APPLE SAUCE — You can buy any jar of apple sauce that your little heart desires. Both all natural or no sugar added will work. You can also use cinnamon flavored apple sauce (cinnamon apple sauce is perfect for carrot cake!). If you want to make your own apple sauce, that’s fine too! I have an easy recipe for making apple sauce in a crock pot below.

BUY YOUR CAKE MIX — Buy any flavor cake you want. Don’t worry about the cake tasting like apple sauce because it won’t. You can even add apple sauce to a chocolate cake. If you want to make your cake from scratch that’s fine too!

MAKE YOUR CAKE — Make your cake as directed on the box or according to your recipe BUT when it asks for water you are going to use apple sauce instead! If it calls for 1 cup of water skip the water and add 1 cup of apple sauce. Then follow all the other directions as they are stated and bake as directed too. When it’s done and cooled off you will have one very moist cake!

How to Make Apple Sauce in a Crock Pot! If you have a bunch of apples and can’t eat them fast enough before they go bad you can make apple sauce in the crock pot! It’s so easy and you’ll save money by making your own apple sauce and by not wasting your apples!

PREPARE THE APPLES — Peel your apples, core them, and cut them into slices. You can use any type of apple. You can even mix for a varied flavor. You need enough apples to cover the bottom of your crock pot but don’t fill it more than half way full.

SEASON THE APPLES — Place the apple slices in the crock pot and add a splash of lemon juice. Also add some water (about 1/4 cup per 3 apples). You can also sprinkle on some sugar or brown sugar and cinnamon if you want. Then just mix the apples and the seasonings a bit.

MASH THE APPLES — Once the apples are soft take a potato masher and mash them. You now have apple sauce! Store in the refrigerator in a covered container or in individual snack size containers for quick and easy snacks!
