Dayton’s Miami Valley region features haunted houses, haunted trails, corn mazes, and many other Halloween attractions for visitors to fear each harvest season in southwest Ohio.

Dayton’s popular Bonnybrook Halloween Haunted Farm Hayride, the oldest haunted hayride in Ohio, is closed for the 2007 Halloween season. Bonnybrook Farms is moving and will reopen its haunted hayride and corn maze in 2008.

Bloody Mary’s Massacre Meadows

Bloody Mary’s Massacre Meadows is based on a scary story about a deranged nurse, Mary Hatchet. This haunted attraction includes a Maze of Horror followed by The Trail of Doom, a haunted trail through 11 acres of dark forest.

Admission is $8 and parking is free. A coupon is available on their website. Call 1(866)4ZOMBIE for hours.

Absolutely Deranged

Absolutely Deranged is one of the newer Halloween season destinations in the area and offers two different haunted attractions; a haunted corn maze and the creepy Panic Box Spookhouse. A chainsaw carrying Freddy Krueger will spook visitors walking along the foggy haunted trail at Kruegers Korn Maze.

The haunted attractions are open, weather permitting, Fridays and Saturdays between September 21 and October 27, 2007 from 8pm until midnight.

Admission to Panic Box Spookhouse is $10 and Kruegers Korn Maze is also $10. Save $2 on a ticket to both terrors and pay an additional $5 for a fast pass. A coupon for $1 off can be printed from the Absolutely Deranged website.

Terror Within

Rated PG-13 for its gory contents and absolutely terrifying attractions, Zombie Island and Toodarkpark create a haunted trail for the fourth Halloween season.

Terror Within is open for a long Halloween season, every Friday and Saturday from September 14 through November 3, 2007.

Hours are as follows: 9pm to 1am between Friday, September 14 and Saturday, October 6; 8pm to 1am from Friday, October 12 through Saturday, November 3.

Admission costs $15. Visitors park on the grounds of the Turtle Creek Flea Market, but beware the terror may begin within the parking lot.

Springboro Haunted Hayride

Bull Run Farms will offer two award winning haunted attractions for their 19th Halloween season. A one mile long, Haunted Hayride carries guests through the terror on a wagon pulled by a tractor. The Black Bog is an additional extremely frightening, dark, haunted attraction.

Bull Run Farms will be open, weather permitting, every Friday and Saturday, September 28 through October 27, 2007.

The first hayride departs approximately a half hour after sundown. Tickets can be purchased until 11:30pm.

The Haunted Hayride costs $12 and the Bog costs $8, with a combination ticket priced at $15.

Follow the skeleton hands to the Old Cambridge Inn building to get lost in twists and turns, fog and lights, through 30 different rooms and 100 doors.

The Chambers of Horror is open all Fridays and Saturdays, September 14 through October 27, 2007 from 8pm until midnight.

Experience the creepy chambers on Halloween night, Wednesday October 31, from 8pm until 10pm.

Admission is $9 per person with a $1 off coupon available on The Chambers of Horror website.

Night Fright Haunted Trail

The recreational area, Silver Lake Beach, features a half mile long haunted trail each Halloween season.

The haunted trail will be open every Friday and Saturday, September 28 through October 27, 2007 from 8pm until midnight.

Admission is $10 and a $1 off coupon is available on the Night Fright Haunted Trail website.
