Giovanni Direct is one of the best kept hair care secrets around. I started using this creamy leave-in conditioner a couple of years ago and every time I stray and try something new, I regret it. Giovanni Direct has never done me wrong.
In my quest for the perfect leave-in conditioner, I wanted to find one that didn’t contain silicones because my hair hates that coated, waxy feeling that silicones create. So, I looked high and low for a leave-in with no silicones. I found several and gave them all auditions.

This product makes detangling easier for my thick, curly hair, and it softens my hair. From my observations, it also smoothes my hair and tames frizz and flyaways.
Best of all, it’s natural!! It doesn’t contain any animal by-products, and it’s free of parabens (synthetic preservatives). It’s full of hair-friendly ingredients like rosemary oil, lavender, and soybean protein. It naturally strengthens and moisturizes each strand.
I apply this product to wet hair after I rinse out my conditioner. Another great thing about this product is that a little goes a very long way. It’s a creamy, water based product so it doesn’t take much to get the full effect.
I part my hair down the middle of my head to make two sections. I use a quarter size amount of product for each side. I work the leave-in through my hair with my hands then I put a dime sized amount in my palm and work it into the ends of my hair since this is the oldest, most delicate part of the strand. After applying the leave-in, I gently detangle with a wide-toothed comb. Giovanni Direct can be used to airdry or to heat style. It acts as a barrier between my hair and the appliance. I’ve used the leave-in to airdry my hair hanging out or to blowdry and flat iron my hair. Either way, I get soft, smooth, healthy-looking hair that has body and movement.
