Fun Birthday Party Ideas for Adults

Adult Party, Birthday Ideas, Drinking Games, Inexpensive Pinatas

Sometimes adults dread birthdays because they are turning another year older. Why not make a fun birthday party that will help to take someone’s mind off of their age and more on having fun? Bring out their inner child. If you are throwing your own birthday party, be creative and playful. Here are some silly birthday ideas.

Hang a pinata. Make sure that it is located in a place where people will swing at it and not damage any walls or furniture. Remember, you are playing with full grown adults, not little children. Instead of having someone swing a stick around to hit the pinata, try buying a pinata that has strings that you can pull which is actually safer and more gentler. Put adult items in there, spare change, condoms, breath mints, lottery tickets, funny key chains, decks of playing cards and little plastic bottles of liquor.

Try to have a theme party. For example, everyone has to dress up in a certain way that attends the party. If the person who you are throwing the party for really likes the 80’s, then have people come dressed in 80’s fashion. Play 80’s music. If the person you are throwing the party for loves celebrities and gossip, then have people come dressed as a famous celebrity. It might be interesting to see which people can actually pull off looking like the celebrity they came dressed as.

Play drinking games. If you are not planning on serving alcohol at this party, then skip to the next idea. Drinking games can break the ice and add a lot of humor to any party. Some drinking games include Kings, beer pong and flip cup. These games are usually played by the younger crowd, but I think it would be funner to watch a bunch of older people drink and play these games. There are many other drinking games out there. You can even make up your own.

Have a dance party. There are many different eras of music. You could have a dance party geared toward the music of the fifties and sixties. Some suggestions might be The Twist, The Jerk, The Jitterbug and the Hand Jive. If you want to have a more modern dance party, try to add some line dances that people can do, such as the Electric Slide, the Cha Cha Slide, the Cotton Eyed Joe and the new Cupid Shuffle. Keep people up and dancing with good songs that really energize you and make you want to get out of your seat.

Play a board game. Try getting some adults up to play Twister or musical chairs. Pictionary or any drawing games can be fun. Charades can also be a good game to play. There are plenty of board games out there. Try to pick one that will best suit your crowd.

Sing karaoke. You can rent a karaoke machine if you don’t have one. Some popular video game systems also have karaoke video games you can play. Try and get everyone up to sing whether they are good at it or not. It will make for a lot of laughs.

Rent a clown. You may think that clowns are just for children but think again. You can rent a clown for an adult party! It sounds like a silly idea but it might provide you some fun entertainment. Make sure you tell them it is for an adult party.

These ideas may sound fun or maybe just too silly but it is all about letting go and enjoying yourself. Parties are meant to be fun, not dull! How many parties have you gone to where people are sitting around eating and just staring at each other? That’s no fun! Make sure there are lots of laughs, energy and entertainment for your guests so that they will be talking about that party for years to come.
