Fritos Honey BBQ Flavor Twists

Dried Snacks, Fritos

When I reached for a bag of Fritos corn chips at a CVS Pharmacy last week, I noticed a new type of spiral – shaped Fritos corn snacks. The name of these corn snacks is Fritos Honey BBQ Flavor Twists. I decided to purchase a bag of these snacks and I’m glad that I did. One of the reasons that I purchased these corn snacks, was in the interest of writing a review of the item.

Presented here, in an effort to assist the consumer, is one food writer’s product review of Fritos Honey BBQ Flavor Twists.

Size
The net weight of the package of Fritos Honey BBQ Flavor Twists being reviewed here is 2 7/8 ounces. The package is bigger than the single serving – sized bag, but is smaller than the family – size bag. According to the product’s nutrition label, the package holds about three one ounce servings, which equals approximately 23 chips.

Whenever I see this size bag of Fritos or other snack chips, I think that it is a single serving package, but looks can be deceiving. In reality, I usually consume only one third to one half of a bag at a time and such is the case with these corn snacks.

Price
The retail price that is printed on the front label of the package of Fritos Honey BBQ Flavor Twists is $0.99c and that is the price that I paid for one package of these corn snacks. I definitely think that this price is reasonable, considering the great flavor, number of servings and overall high quality that the item offers.

Appearance
The appearance of Fritos Honey BBQ Flavor Twists is markedly different from regular – style Fritos corn chips. As soon as I saw these snack chips, I thought that their shape was identical to that of rotini, or corkscrew / spiral – type pasta. These corn snack spirals are more orange in color than regular – style Fritos, which I am assuming is because of the honey BBQ seasoning that is applied to the snacks.

Texture
This new type of Fritos corn snack features a texture that is similar to, but not exactly the same as regular – style Fritos corn chips. When I glance at these corn snacks, they look like their texture would be hard and brittle, but in actuality, they are only a little bit crispier than regular – style Fritos corn chips.

I have found many honey BBQ – flavored snack items to be too sweet and / or too heavy on the BBQ seasoning. That is not the case with these snacks. Their flavor is almost subtle and under – stated, but the blend of honey and barbecue flavors in these snacks is well – balanced.

It is hard for me to stop eating these corn snacks, now. These snacks are really tasty. I would definitely purchase Fritos Honey BBQ Flavor Twists again.

Overall Rating
Fritos Honey BBQ Flavor Twists are very tasty corn snacks that are unusually – shaped and nicely – textured. These reasonably – priced corn snacks are available at food retailers across America and are highly recommended by this food writer.
