Free Crochet Patterns – Amigurumi Cats

Amigurumi, Craft Articles, Free Crochet Patterns, Seashell Crafts

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting little stuffed dolls or stuffed animals (see my article here for more information on this fun crochet craft). These little stuffed dolls are easy to crochet and are so little that they don’t use up much yarn. Making Amigurumi dolls is habit forming for anyone who crochets. Below are free patterns to make cute little Amigurumi cats. Get out your crochet hook and your scraps of yarn and start making these Amigurumi cats today!

Amigurumi Cat #1 – Amigurumi Kitty in Jammies: This is simply the cutest crocheted cat I’ve ever seen. And with a finished size of just over 4 inches tall, this is Amigurumi in its truest form. This little girl cat has the sweetest face and she’s dressed in her pink jammies! This stuffed cat would make a wonderful gift for any little girl. Or course, you can make the jammies any color you want. Blue jammies are perfect for a boy. Or red jammies would be good for a Christmas kitty. This free Amigurumi pattern is considered easy to make so it’s a good one to start out on if you never made an Amigurumi stuffed doll before. You can make this Amigurumi cat in just one sitting!

Amigurumi Cat #2 – Amigurumi Hello Kitty: Oh my! Get ready for sweetness overkill! If you don’t think this Hello Kitty Amigurumi doll isn’t the cutest thing (might even be a bit more cute than the kitty in jammies above), then scroll down the instruction page and check out the photo of the group of Hello Kitties. They are just adorable! And this Hello Kitty Amigurumi doll measures a petite 3 inches tall. These are tiny enough to turn into key chains! Warning: you will want to make one in every color!

Amigurumi Cat #3 – Amigurumi Clyde the Golden Cat: Clyde is a very cute cat that looks like he’s got a bit of attitude. And his big ears make him almost look like a dog! But he’s cute just the same. This Amigurumi cat comes in at 7 inches tall, which is on the large size as far as Amigurumi goes. This cool cat is actually a good size for a dog toy for a smaller dog. Just make sure you crochet the eyes on and don’t use eyes that can come off.

Amigurumi Cat #4 – Amigurumi Blue Crochet Kitty: This kitty, which measures a whopping 13 inches, really is a bit too tall to be considered Amigurumi. But I’m including it just the same because some people find it’s easier to work on larger stuffed animals. And this cat has such a cool retro look with his big green eyes. This size cat makes a good toy for children. Just make sure it’s age appropriate.

Amigurumi Cat #5 – Amigurumi Sherbet Kitty: This is another cat that you will be making in many colors. They are just so cute as a group. The pattern does not state the finished size, but they look tiny. And they also look as delicious as sherbet!

Amigurumi Cat #6 – Amigurumi Cat and Mouse: How often can I get away with using the word cute? This is too cute! This little Amigurumi cat comes with his own mouse! The cat is about 6 inches tall when sitting. You get the free instructions for both the cat and the mouse.

Amigurumi Cat #7 – Amigurumi Sporty Kitten: Sporty Kitten is listed as easy to crochet so it’s a good pattern for someone who has never made an Amigurumi doll before. The kitten shown is made using black yarn. But this sporty cat would look nice in all colors.
