America is a land rich in a grand variety of fabulous food resources. Americans, through cultural heritage and invention have turned these foods into a countless number of all American dishes. Each region of our country has distinctive food specialties based on the resources in the area and the background of its people. Below is a list of foods from different parts of our country. Maybe you have tried some of these, maybe not! If not, maybe you can find something interesting that you’d like to cook for your family.

The recipes for the dishes below are not included, but if you do a search online for any of the dishes below, you are likely to find a wide variety of recipes to choose from. And you don’t have to stick to any rules! You can give a Southwestern dish a New England twist by adding local ingredients or seasons that you are more used to.
