The fashion industry is overflowing with styles and trends that are geared for the teenage girl and the mature woman. The way that a teenage girl dresses in comparison to the way that a woman should dress is quite different. Some have animated designer logos on them, and are geared for younger girls. Nothing looks more ridiculous then a mature woman wearing “JUICY” on her backside. Stay away from dresses with tooling and frills (Betsey Johnson). No tight mini skirts and dresses, belly baring tops, or taut leggings, save these looks for the youngsters.
Mature women should also stick to accessories made for their age group. Do not adorn yourself with young fashion jewelry. Multiple bangle bracelets ornamented with charms, large fashion crosses or giant sized hoop earrings. Anything that looks too young on you, is made solely for the teenage girl spectrum.
Their shopping world is unlike the mature woman’s. Teens shop at stores like “Forever 21”, “Charlotte Russe”, “Too Cute” and “The Limited Too. Although a grown woman may fit into these clothes, it does not mean they should be wearing them. These boutiques are made especially for teenagers.
The mature woman has a vast selection of clothing and accessory stores. If you like to wear designer clothing go with jogging suits from top designers such as Ralph Lauren, DKNY, and Calving Klein. They do have their own logo’s but they are small and tastefully placed on their clothing. If you like sexy dresses, Nicole Miller, Tadashi, Carmen Marc Valvo and Cheta B. carry gorgeous lines of dresses for all seasons.
Do you love designer name fashion accessories? The mature woman has an array of designers; Liz Claiborne, Judith Jack, Haskell and Judith Lieber. They create beautiful high end costume jewelry. Mature women’s clothing stores are not limited. All department stores carry high and inexpensive clothing lines and accessories. There are small chain boutiques; Cachet, Foxes, and Chico’s, (just a few in a sea of many). Less expensive shops like Express, New York & Co. and The Limited, carry trendy and reasonably priced clothes, all designed for the mature woman.
Mature women and Teenage girls have a large age difference between them. There is a variety of clothing and accessories that are suitable for both groups. Remember, dressing sexy and tasteful is something every woman can accomplish. Know the boundaries permitted for your wardrobe and the generation gaps.
