Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Blizzard Cake is the perfect ice cream cake for a peanut butter and chocolate lover!
I grew up on the Friendly’s Ice Cream store’s Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Sundae. But since there is not a Friendly’s very closes to where I live, we visit Dairy Queen on my diet cheat day.
My son wanted to try the DQ Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Blizzard Cake. It wasn’t anyone’s birthday or anniversary – just an ordinary day. To be silly, my son had them write, “Happy New Year’s” on the top of the DQ ice cream cake.

The Dairy Queen Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Blizzard Cake has a white frosting with drizzles of chocolate on the tops and side of the cake. The inside is filled with soft serve type ice cream.
Here’s what I learned during my review of the DQ Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Blizzard Cake:
No. 1: Some of the allergens listed include milk, peanut, soy and wheat. The package says the frosting may contain egg, almond, pecan, cashew, walnut brazil nut or coconut.
No. 2: The Dairy Queen Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Blizzard Cake is topped with chunks of Reese’s peanut butter cups. There is also some peanut butter cups inside the slices, along with a chocolate center. It’s incredibly rich, delicious and sweet!
No. 3 Make sure to store your DQ ice cream cake in the freezer, but take it out 15 to 20 minutes before serving for the best results.
No. 4: The Dairy Queen Birthday Cakes come in 8 inch round size to serve 8 to 10 people; 10 inch round to serve 12 to 16 and sheet cakes which serve 20 to 24 people.
No. 5: Cake designs vary depending on the DQ restaurant location so check with your local store. The DQ near my home will write any message on top of the cake, which makes it ideal for birthday, retirement, anniversaries and graduation parties.
If you are trying to find the best ice cream cake for a birthday party, try the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Blizzard cake or one of the other Blizzard cakes. They have an Oreo cake that I might try for my younger son’s birthday since he is an Oreo Blizzard fanatic. The Chocolate Extreme Blizzard Cake and the Oreo Brownie Earthquake ice cream cakes also look yummy.
While I don’t recommend eating the DQ Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Blizzard Cake on a regular basis, it is an excellent choice for a birthday ice cream cake, especially if you have a peanut butter lover in the family. While it’s easy to bake a birthday cake, it can be messy to put together an ice cream cake. To save time and effort, the DQ ice cream cakes are great!
