Comparing Crystal Light and Lipton on the Go Flavor Packets

Crystal Light, Ice Tea, Lipton

Let’s face it. American’s grow increasingly busy and their lifestyles become more and more hectic with each passing year. There appears to be no end in sight. In fact, if anything, even more pressure and stress will continue to be added.

Work longer. Exercise more. Spend more time with the children. Help out more at school and church. Take care of aging parents. The demands just keep coming.

With time being at a premium, Americans will continue to look for ways to cut corners. Wherever possible, however, they will want those methods to be health conscious.

Americans consume more than 26 billion liters of bottled water every year. A lot of it remains pure water, however, more and more individuals are adding flavorings to their bottled water. Tea is the most popular flavoring, but lemonade and other fruit flavors are also becoming popular.

Crystal Light is one of the country’s foremost manufacturer’s of flavors for bottled water. These include both fruit and tea flavors. The most positive aspect of their products is the fact that they are all sugar free.

Lipton Ice Tea also makes multiple flavors of tea that can be added to bottled water. Some are sugar coated while others are sugar free. However, they do not make fruit flavors without the tea.

Both Crystal Light and Lipton make “on the go” packets of their various product flavors. Each packet represents an individual serving that can be added to a typical 16.9 fluid ounce bottle of water. Both Crystal Light and Lipton have great product lines. Let’s take a look at them, comparing them head to head.

Crystal Light currently offers eleven flavors for bottled water. These include:

Lemonade,
Raspberry lemonade,
Peach tea,
Iced tea,
Raspberry ice,
Fruit punch,
Sunrise classic orange,
Hydration light lemon,
Immunity cherry pomegranate,
Antioxidant honey lemon green tea, and
Antioxidant raspberry green tea.

Each packet contains just five calories per 8 oz serving and generally has negligible or no fat or carbohydrates. They do, however, contain around 50 to 75 milligrams of sodium.

I have tried the lemonade, raspberry lemonade, peach tea, ice tea, and raspberry ice flavors. They are all quite good but my favorite flavor is the peach tea. It is outstanding!

Ten packets come in each box which retails for about $3.99. Crystal Light can be found in almost any grocery store as well as in some discount department stores that also carry food.

I give Crystal Light four out of five stars.

Lipton’s “to go” packets contain 80 milligrams of flavonoid antioxidants per serving. The packets come in six wonderful flavors. They include:

Peach,
Raspberry,
Cherry blossom,
Lemon,
Honey and lemon, and
Mandarin and mango.

One packet will flavor a 16.9 to 20 oz bottle of water. Like Crystal Light, Lipton offers no calories, no sugar, no fat, and no carbs. However, unlike their competitor, Lipton’s packets do not contain any sodium.

I have tried all of the Lipton flavors and like most of them very much, but I’m still a fan of the peach. It’s simply my favorite in almost any circumstance.

Ten packets come inside each box of Lipton, with the box retailing for around $3.99 each. They are available at most grocery stores and can be found at many discount department stores that also sell food.

I give Lipton four stars out of five, deducting points because Crystal Light provides a wider variety of overall flavors.

Here is how the two product lines look when compared head to head:

Packaging goes to Crystal Light. They packs are smaller and can more easily fit into any sized pocket.

Variety of flavors goes to Crystal Light. They offer several fruit flavors in addition to their tea.

Quality of flavors is a toss up. Both brands make super flavors which are quality all the way.

Price value is a toss up. They cost about the same and complete the same number of servings.

Availability is also a toss up. Both product lines are carried in most grocery stores.

Consequently, Crystal Light edges out Lipton by a hair. However, you can’t go wrong with either of these brands. They are both excellent and provide a great way to ensure that everyone gets his or her necessary daily fluid intake.

Hydration is important to a healthy lifestyle and with Americans moving at 100 miles a minute, hydration is obviously key. So hydrate America and enjoy it too.
