Seashell Crafts

Wine and liquor bottles are available in beautiful shapes and colors that lend themselves very well to transformation, so there’s no point in throwing them away! Recycle them into somethging brand new with these very basic craft techniques. Listed below are several very simple ways to decorate wine bottles. Use your finished project for last minute DIY gift ideas, or as a unique DIY home décor idea.

Decorate wine bottles with rope

By covering wine bottles with rope, you’ll make DIY home décor that will blend with any design theme. The finished project looks great above the mantel, on a bookcase, on a windowsill, or above kitchen cabinetry. To make these decorated wine bottles, you’ll need the following:

– Ball or string or twine
– Hot glue gun
– Empty wine bottles
– Scissors

Gather together your supplies and follow these steps:

STEP 1 – Begin at the bottom of the bottle, coiling the rope around the base.

STEP 2 – Apply hot glue beneath the rope to secure in place.

STEP 3 – Circle the bottle with the string, working your way upwards as you apply the glue as you go. The string or twine should butt up against each other as you stick it to the bottle. There should be no space or gaps in between.

STEP 4 – As you reach the top of the bottle, cut the string or twine cleanly. Generously apply the hot glue to the bottle to hold the end in place and keep it from fraying.
