Central New York Dollar Stores Compared

Central New York, Dollar Stores, Dollar Tree, Personal Checks

Dollar stores are classified as retails stores that offer all of their products for a dollar or less. Throughout Central New York, the past few years have brought an abundance of dollar stores. Dollar stores continue to gain shoppers and many are beginning to expand their product lines. There are three main dollar store chains located in Central New York.

Dollar Bazaar is a locally owned company that is based out of Owego, New York. Dollar Bazaar’s parent company is referred to as Dollars Worth, LLC. This was one of the first dollar stores to arrive in my town and they have since expanded throughout the rest of New York. Dollar Bazaar has greatly improved since it’s first store opened. Dollar Bazaar will sometimes carry name brand products; however, they are mostly known for their low priced comparable items. Most Dollar Bazaar stores have a contract with Pepsi and Little Debbie; therefore, they are able to offer these national products well below supermarket prices.

Dollar Bazaar carries a wide variety of products; for example, they carry food, stationary, books, cleaning supplies, household products, home décor, giftware, baby products, seasonal merchandise and party supplies. Dollar Bazaar usually offers a large selection of party supplies ranging from different colored streamers to cake decorations. If you have to buy someone a gift then Dollar Bazaar should be one of your first stops. This company has an amazing selection of knickknack or other ceramic gift items. Many Dollar Bazaar stores also sell an unlimited amount of gift bags in just about every size for almost any occasion. Dollar Bazaar will also take balloon orders for special occasions.

Dollar Tree offers a wide variety of off-brand and national brand products. Dollar Tree carries everything from candy and food to gifts and basically everything in between. Dollar Tree can also provide balloon orders for any occasion. I have to admit that Dollar Tree is my favorite dollar store in the area to shop at. They constantly offer a wide selection of name brand foods, including Little Debbie, and always have national candy bar brands in stock. Dollar Tree also is one of the few places in my area to find character coloring books for a dollar.

The hours of operation for all Dollar Tree stores depend on the location, it is recommend that you contact your local store ahead of time. Most Dollar Tree stores accept cash and personal checks. Some of the stores are now beginning to accept credit or debit cards. To find a Dollar Tree store located near you, please use the store locator found at www.dollartree.com.

Dollar stores are a great way to save money and place to find amazing deals. If you find an item that you like while you are shopping, you should pick it up when you first see it. Although dollar stores are great retailers, they generally carry their items on a first come first serve basis. Just because you find an item once, doesn’t necessarily mean you will find it again.
