Style
Bounty Basic Paper Towels are available in a solid white color and also in varied prints. While decoration is not one of the most important factors when it comes to using paper towels, Bounty Basic prints are nice to look at. They have been selected over the average white paper towels on many of my shopping trips. However, the prints version of Bounty Basic Paper Towels may be more appropriate in certain environments. A job site with dozens of male construction workers would not be the best place to store Bounty Basic Paper Towels with prints of flowers on them. Still, there are many patterns that work well in the kitchen and bathroom of almost any household. They can add a pleasant tone to the room, especially during the spring and summer months.
Quality
This is where I cannot agree with the packaging of Bounty Basic Paper Towels. The description states that these paper towels have “great strength”, but that has not always been the case. I have used Bounty Basic Paper Towels on many occasions and am not impressed with them. They are much thinner than regular Bounty paper towels, which has affected their durability. While Bounty Basic Paper Towels can last long, that seems to depend on what you are using them for. I have used these paper towels for many different tasks, including the preparation of food.
When trying to drain the excess grease from bacon or French fries, Bounty Basic Paper Towels did not hold up. Instead, the grease still soaked through the paper towels and onto my dinnerware. If I had used paper plates to hold these types of greasy foods, there would be a huge mess in the kitchen. Contrary to what the packaging says and what you may believe, Bounty Basic Paper Towels do indeed break apart easily. I would not use them for anything more than drying household items and minor cleaning tasks.
Price
Bounty Basic Paper Towels are marketed as being strong products with a great price. When comparing them to other brands in grocery stores, pharmacy stores and other shopping destinations, Bounty Basic Paper Towels may be inexpensive on some occasions. However, the store brand paper towels still cost less than Bounty Basic. That goes for both the single roll offerings and those eight count packages that are frequently on sale. One single roll of Bounty Basic Paper Towels can cost anywhere from $1.19 to $1.99. Compared to the regular Bounty towels and other popular brands, this is an affordable price. Still, it is best to purchase the 8-roll packages that tend to be on sale for $6 at stores like Target, Wal-Mart, CVS, Rite Aid and Grocery Stores.
Verdict
Bounty Basic Paper Towels are attractive and easy to use. The sheet count is satisfactory, making them a worthwhile purchase. However, they are not always as durable as their packaging states. They are not the best products to use for filtering purposes. Bounty Basic Paper Towels seem to be better suited for light weight vegetables and fruits when it comes to washing produce. These foods include lettuce, grapes and green beans. Bounty Basic Paper Towels may not hold up when washing heavy produce items like apples and potatoes. Although they are priced higher than generic products, Bounty Basic Paper Towels are still less expensive than other options in the same league.
