Birmingham Zoo is located on 2630 Cahaba Road in Birmingham, Alabama. The zoo is open year round seven days a week from 9 am until 5 pm on weekdays and from 9 am until 7 pm on weekends. The tickets to get into the zoo cost 12 dollars for adults and 7 dollars for children. On Tuesdays at the Birmingham Zoo the ticket price to get into the zoo is 6 dollars for adults and 3 dollars for children. The zoo is handicap accessible which allows handicap people to roam the zoo freely and explore and visit each animal and exhibit in the zoo as well.

Some of the animals you will see in the zoo are from all over the world from different places such as Africa, Europe, Australia, and South America. These types of animals are mammals, reptiles, amphibians, sea animals and birds. The types of animals you may be able to feed during your visit to the Birmingham Zoo would be pelicans, lorikeets, giraffes, and llamas. During the afternoon there will be wild life shows going on all over the zoo park if you want to sit down and watch one of them. Other things you will be able to do would be ride on the carousels and take a train ride through the zoo park to see all the animal exhibits.

If you get hungry while visiting the Birmingham Zoo there are several food stands to get a drink or a snack at. Most of the food stands sell soft drinks, pretzels, ice cream, cookies, chips, hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy. There is also a first add place in the zoo park just in case you get hurt by accident while visiting the park.
