Review: PSPrint Printing Service

Thermography

Samples: PSPrint gives you what so many printers like to keep as printer jargon, paper samples. For those who never worked at a printing place, you can only guess how 70lb matte text paper feels, or read reviews online about it. PSPrint addresses this concern with a small stack of their paper samples.

Held in a glossy case, and bound with a black button, it allows you to pick out and feel the paper, and shows what products are available in the certain paper. My only complaint about this holder is it is a little unwieldy and hard to look at one piece at a time, and rather you have to thumb through the entire stack, but this only takes a moment or two to overcome.

Other samples include two business cards, a 14pt glossy and 13pt matte with two rounded edges, along with two types of postcard and a submission guide. The sample guide shows you how to create rich black, how to avoid pixelization, and how big font will appear on a printed page.

PSPrint boasts a 99.7% on-time delivery status, a powerful statistic, along with daily printer calibrations to ensure color is always printed correctly, and does a very good job of letting you know that professionals are at work and they care about your project.

While I was hoping for a few extra samples of different products, the paper selection guide is something that has one upped every other sample I have seen thus far. PSPrint has my vote for a great sample packet, and great initial presentation.

Rating: 4/5 (I love the paper sample booklet, but I would like to see more of their other products)

Products: (colors, double siding, extra for bleeds?) Complete with a huge variety of products, they feature all the common items (business cards, letterhead, envelopes, and postcards), but many others as well. Posters, banners, notepads, flyers, CD inserts; they print products for nearly every need or occasion. A great product list of full color printing.

However, for those looking for more traditional printing, 1 or 2 color and raised thermography (a printing process where the printing is raised and can be felt when running your finger across the paper), will find this site lacking. They also charge for double siding, and you can choose either to have black on the back, or more expensive color on the back. There is no charge for bleeds (cutting to the exact edge of the print, allowing the ink to be the edge, instead of leaving a white edge).

Rating: 4.5/5 I’d like to see more traditional printing, but with so many full color products they can cover nearly all your needs.

Turnaround times: Standard turnaround times for this site tend to be about 5 or 7 business days, depending on product. They offer earlier services for an affordable fee, the best being rush (1 or 2 business day).

Shipping is another 5 business days for ground, and again rush services can be applied. The amount of time for each is rather standard.

Rating: 3/5 (Standard really, not much to say about this)

Website Functionality: The website is sleek and easy to use, and also includes an instant calculator to tell you what your costs are. It also breaks it down, telling you the price per product. Not only that, but it tells you on the front page which products are for sale, and lets you know when the sale is good for.

When selecting a product, it gives a very brief, easy to look at overview, displaying benefits and good points about their service. You can also easily customize your order, changing the paper size, paper type and printer colors, etc when applicable.

Rating: 5/5

Contact Methods: There is an easy to use contact form for questions, and includes drop down menus to help facilitate your question. There is also a phone and fax number, offering you instant answers from a small call. Not only that, but on the contact form there is a FAQ, possibly helping your question along faster.

Rating: 5/5

Services: Pre-made designs are offered for business cards and postcards, so for those without design skills can still have a great product printed. Also you can hire their graphic designers, their prices are a little steeper than some other printers, but the products are definitely good.

They also offer mailing lists, to help with your marketing, foil stamping, and die cutting for your prints.

Rating: 4/5 (I would like to see more affordable designs and more than the ordinary)

Total: 25.5/30 A

Overview:
Boasting great percentages for on-time delivery, a huge list of products, full color printing, and a great sample kit, PSPrint is a great way to fulfill your printing needs. While I think they can do something better than standard turnaround times, and their designing could be more affordable, they offer rush services and pre-made designs to get around that problem. I recommend PSPrint.
