Low Carb Mixed Drinks, No Carb Mixed Drinks

Mixed drinks are an essential part of summer beach tradition. Sitting by a beach or by a pool with a great mixed drink is just something you do in the summer. If you’re on a low or no carb diet, you may think that there aren’t many low carb mixed drinks. This is not the case. You may not know this, but hard liquors are carb-free, so if you play your cards right you can have several no carb mixed drinks options. If you want the lowest carb mixed drinks, stay away from liqueurs such as Kahlua, Baileys, etc – these are LOADED with sugar and carbs! A basic rule of thumb is if it’s clear, it’s safe. If it’s creamy, it’s carby.

I have five of the lowest carb mixed drinks that I would like to share with you. Several of these can be considered no carb mixed drinks. You can drink these this summer and not worry about breaking your diet!

Lowest Carb Mixed Drinks #1: Sugar Free Mojitos

A mojito doesn’t have to be your diet downfall this summer! One of the low carb mixed drinks for this summer is a simple sugar free mojito you can make yourself. Simply grind some mint leaves up with Splenda sweetener and the juice of half a lime. Add some seltzer water, ice, and rum and you have one of the lowest carb mixed drinks out there.

Low Carb Mixed Drinks #2: Low Carb Strawberry Cosmo

One of the low carb mixed drinks that is absolutely delicious is a Low Carb Strawberry Cosmo. Start with some strawberry flavored vodka and a splash of cranberry juice. The cranberry juice contains carbs so make sure you only use a small splash. Add some seltzer water to the mix and here you have a DELICIOUS fruity drink.

No Carb Mixed Drinks #3: Diet Coke and Rum

A favorite drink of mine is Rum and Coke. However, Rum and Coke is loaded with carbs. Simply substitute the “Coke” for “Coke Zero” and you have a very delicious no-carb alternative. You can also use diet Coke or any other diet cola of your choice.

No Carb Mixed Drinks #4: Sugar Free Hard Lemonade

Mike’s Hard Lemonade was a favorite drink of mine until I read the nutrition label. Hard lemonade is chock FULL of carbs in the form of sugar. However, you can take sugar free lemonade and spike it with some vodka to have a sugar-free hard lemonade. My favorite sugar free lemonade is available at Chick-fil-A.

Low Carb Mixed Drinks #5: Sugar Free Long Island Iced Tea

If you love your long island iced teas, you can make them sugar free! Simply take some iced tea sweetened with Splenda and add vodka to it. This is a great no carb mixed drinks that you can enjoy out in the sun.

Being on a low-carb diet doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your alcohol. Stick to clear and brown hard liquor and avoid liqueurs that contain syrup, sugar, or creme and you will be fine.
