Best BDSM Books for New and Not so New Submissives

Submissive

I have written several articles on books available for those new to BDSM and have given you some books you should read whether you are a top or a bottom. The books we will be discussing in this article are the books just for the submissive. I hope that these books will mean as much to you as they did to me. It taught me a whole lot about myself as a person and also helped me to understand my shameful needs. I am hoping that you will feel proud of yourself after reading all these books and that you will be able to celebrate submission with me.

1.The New Bottoming Book by Janet W. Hardy

This book will cost you $10.17 on www.amazon.com excluding shipping. It has 6 reviews that should convince you of its worth as well.

This book, the counterpoint to “The New Topping Book”, taught me one thing above all else – that a submissive has the power and should not throw him or herself at the feet of the first available dominant. It also showed me all those things I could do to be a sought after submissive. I also got a lot of information on dominance and submission relationships (except for the fact that once again master and slave 24/7 was not in the book), negotiations, how to move from cyber to online and the stages of a scene. This writer is one of my favorite writers and she wrote a keeper here. I am proud to be submissive now.

There were many moving and funny moments in this book that touched me deeply as this writer regularly does.

2. Erotic Surrender: The Sensual Joys of Female Submission by Claudia Varrin

The book costs $11.95 at www.amazon.com excluding shipping and has 16 reviews that you can feast your eyes on.

Sexually submissive women are often misunderstood and treated badly by their feminist counterparts. This writer understands the needs of the submissive woman and guides you on a journey to experiencing the joy of your need to submit. She shares domination and submission principles and shares the benefits derived from submission. She helps submissive women to share fantasies and set up scenes that would fulfill those fantasies. She tells you more about role-playing, bondage, pain, discipline, positions and watersports too. There are sample sessions you can share with your dominant and the all-important “checklist”that I discussed in detail in another article I wrote.

You have to own this book, since it is doubtful that your local library will keep a copy!

3. Training With Miss Abernathy: A Workbook for Erotic Slaves and Their Owners by Christina Abernathy

Price on www.amazon.com is $49.99 but I am sure you can find it cheaper at secondhand stores. If you have a problem finding it, contact me and we can see what we can do for you.

This book is a companion to the Dominant’s guide on how to train and discipline a slave. This book is for serious 24/7 slaves and will lead you deeper into submission by written exercises, meditation and other tasks. It shows your progress and also gives you tips on which training courses you might likely need to hone skills such as tea service. This is a book that you should share with your dominant and that you can use if you have no dominant as yet. Remember though that some dominants prefer untrained slaves, as these slaves are easier to train in pleasing that specific dominant with no previous training to confuse them.

The book also describes different types of service and will help you define who you are in your submission so you do not choose the wrong dominant and the wrong type of service when you do choose. There is a wealth of information you will find out about yourself in this process so be prepared to grow.

4. SlaveCraft: Roadmaps for Erotic Servitude–Principles, Skills and Tools by Guy Baldwin (Paperback – April 2002)

This book will cost you $15.95 if you buy it from www.amazon.com and has several reviews.

This book taught me more about being a slave than any other book has ever done. This is a book filled with essays on the basic principles governing a master/ slave relationship and I remember being touched on more than one occasion. This book will definitely not resonate with a submissive that is not into domination and submission 24/7. It will touch the heart of many a doormat in the submissive world. I remember the paragraph where the slave tells how his master is his lifeline in a tumultuous sea and that he would drown if it were not for this man’s wise guidance. He made me proud and happy to be a slave again as I was having problems with it at that stage of my journey. I have read this book over and over again and I will probably need to buy a new copy every few years.

5. Protocols: Handbook for the female slave by Robert J. Rubel (Paperback – April 25, 2006)

Priced at $13.57 at www.amazon.com excluding shipping.

This book was extremely helpful in learning all the general protocols I would have to observe. Some of these have been incorporated by Master and others we rejected as too much for us and also not plausible. It is up to the individual couple, but the book is helpful.

In Conclusion:

I have given you a few books you should get your hands on and read. I have also given you prices, as I know that budget sometimes plays a role in which books you purchase. I know that all these books are great and will help you further your journey substantially. I encourage you to read my other articles on books available out there as an introduction to BDSM if you are completely new. Have fun and fill up those shelves with as much joy as you can.
