Are you trying to decide on a color for your kitchen or living room? Benjamin Moore Paint has many beautiful choices for the perfect room.

Bold citrus colors seem to be popping up in all of the home decoration magazines this year. Shades of green, from lime greens to mellow greens, lime tinted yellows to lemon yellows, and shades of melon to tangerines look to be the popular colors for 2008. This was my choice for kitchen colors. Benjamin Moore Shimmering Lime, with white cabinetry and light wood floors, is the color I chose for my kitchen. Everyone that sees my new kitchen color loves what it has done for the room. I have accented the room with a lovely, black, wrought iron table and baker’s rack. The black of the wrought iron creates a very nice contrast against the Shimmering Lime walls and white cabinets. The kitchen is the lively place in the house, and the new color has made it feel that way. The use of wrought iron furnishings moved the room away from formal to a more elegant, but casual atmosphere. If wrought iron is not your choice, you can continue with the white and light colored wood and include a wooden table that combines both. Because the lime green is a citrus, decorate using tangerine, yellows and shades of green. A simple bowl of fruit in a clear glass bowl, gives a great pop to the room. Scatter the walls with vintage tin signs that depict fruit box labels, and you will have yourself a nice room for entertaining your closest friends over a cup of coffee.

My living room is decorated in old world style, with browns, golds, and rust colors. I accent with antique globes and brass. I choose a warm tone for the walls in this room. The walls in the living room are painted with Benjamin Moore Dorset Gold with one accent wall, which is also the home for the fireplace, is painted in Benjamin Moore’s Navajo Red. The floors are, again, a light colored wood, with pickled oak trim on the fireplace. The pickling paint we used on the fireplace brings out the natural browns and oranges in the wood. The Benjamin Moore Navajo Red is the perfect compliment to the fireplace. The picture I have included here is of that wall. The result in this room was the creation of a very warm, comfortable room.
