These costal wedding themed candles make the perfect centerpiece on a wedding reception table, a wedding buffet, or even as accents throughout the reception hall! You can make these simple wedding themed coastal candles at home and save a ton of money, but still end up with a custom centerpiece for your wedding!

This easy and beautiful coastal wedding seascape candles are the perfect centerpiece to decorate for a beach wedding.

To Make This Simple Beach Wedding Centerpiece Candle You Will Need:

1 Tall Glass Candle Votive

Medium Density Gel Wax

1 Prepared Zinc Core Wick

Glitter sand or regular sand

Hot glue gun

Fragrance is optional

Sea shells and Sand Dollars

For a dramatic centerpiece on your wedding reception tables, go for a very tall clear glass vase or candle votive. It will draw your wedding guests eyes upwards!

The first step is squeeze out a glob of hot glue on the bottom of your wick and press it in the center of the bottom of your tall glass candle votive.

Now, use your hot glue gun to glue your seashells or sand dollars to the bottom of the glass vase or candle votive. I like to use a combination of coastal elements for this, but almost any seashell will do. Just make sure you use a non-flammable material.

For a dramatic look really go for some large conch shells.

Now, pour in some white sand, brown sand, and or glitter into the bottom of the clear glass bowl. Do not cover up your sea shells, but make them look like they are sitting in the sand.

You could pour the sand in first.

You can also add some realistic looking sea grass from the aquarium section at your local pet store.

Now, take your medium density gel wax and melt it in a double boiler on your stove. I like to use an old metal coffee can for this. Just place it in a pot of water and start adding the candle wax into the coffee can.

If you are going to add fragrance, do it now while the wax is liquid. Continually stir the melted wax.

Tip: Now, you need to work in stages if you want to give the appearance of coastal birds flying over the sand. I find great little plastic sea gulls and other birds all the time at the Hallmark Store and the arts and craft store. So, pour some of your melted wax into the bottom of the coastal Beach Wedding Centerpiece candle. Cover the sand on the ground.

Now, let the wax sit for a little and get firm. Place one or two coastal birds in onto the wax.

Repeat by adding another layer of melted wax.

Continue this until you have reached the top of the clear glass tall candle votive.

Now, this is also the way to stand up some taller sea shells.

Try creating a mixture for large and small sea shells in each beach wedding centerpiece. For example, lay a large conch shell at an angle so that it rests on the inside of the glass vase. Now, sprinkle the bottom sand with small shells. This will create a more natural looking beach themed centerpiece at your beach wedding.
