Bayer Aspirin – Good For Headaches and Minor Pains

Coffee Addiction

Its a shame that Julius Caesar didn’t ask for Bayer aspirin, after his little encounter with some rather sharp objects. Perhaps they would have stopped the bleeding, or made the wounds magically disappear. I’m not trying to be negative here, but after seeing all of Bayers commercials on the boob tube, I am convinced that this is the answer to all of society’s ills. This drug seems to save heart attack victims from these advertisements. I’m sorry, but family history and risk factors are pretty much the main players here.

I’ve never had a heart attack, and I hope to never going through that ordeal. However, my family history has myocardial infarction written all over it. I know I am working against the odds when I indulge in hamburgers and donuts. I have seen firsthand what a heart attack does, as it took the life of one of my closest friends dad’s way too early. According to the Bayer website, their aspirin can help your chances of surviving if taken in the event of a heart attack. I was shocked by their statistics, that show 1.1 million Americans will have heart attacks this year. Sadly, 180,000 of these individuals won’t live.

I use Bayer for headaches and minor pains. It works well for headaches, as the 325 mg of aspirin in each tablet knocks them out quickly. For a minor “siding sales call” kind of headache, it takes about 10-15 minutes to clear it away. For a “your wife delegated you to the couch while the cable doesn’t work” headache, it is effective in 25-30 minutes.” For the massive “your Great Dane left a Jurassic Park sized deposit on your cars leather seats” headache, it takes 45-60 minutes to eliminate the pain.

This effectiveness on headaches is my favorite part of Bayer. It works well in stopping the headaches, and they don’t come back after use. I also haven’t had the side effects of stomach discomfort with use, which is always a bonus when using aspirins. This has been with short and long term usage. I’ve experienced no other side effects with Bayer, except the cotton taste when swallowing them without water. I highly recommend drinking these with water, or a soda.(Caffeine is missing in the Bayer formula, and I’ve found caffeine effective in fighting headaches. As I’m not Dr. Octopus, I could only say this is probably due to my coffee addiction)

The bottle is a breeze to use. Unlike other brands bottles, which are hard to open, no one should have a hard time getting to these aspirins. I’m not sure how this relates to children’s safety, but if you have arthritis, this is a good bottle. However, as someone who suffers from arthritis in my knees, I cannot say that Bayer is effective. In fact, it seems to be almost completely lacking.

I wish I could put a positive spin on this, but I cannot. My arthritis pain just does not seem to respond to Bayer. I’m not sure what it is, but the swelling and pain aren’t even reduced. I do follow the suggested dose, and haven’t tried increasing it, as I believe the instructions are for proper safe usage. It will work on minor backaches, as I had one a few weeks ago from weightlifting, and it decreased the pain within an hour. It lasted for about 5 hours, and I took more after the soreness returned.

My recommendation for Bayer is use it for headaches and minor pains. For Arthritis, I recommend Advil or prescriptions if so desired. With its cheap price, its a great bargain for people looking for some relief of these aches. In addition, its medical benefits also help as well. It is available at all major grocery stores and pharmacies, and comes in a variety of different sizes. Bayer is also often on sale, and has a lot of coupons in Sunday paper circulars.
