Advil Pm Caplets for the Nights You Can’t Sleep. Product Review

Advil, Tylenol PM

Because I have anxiety and panic disorder, I take a klonopin, at night. This normally helps my brain to quieten down, and I am able to go to sleep. However, I get the odd night when I lay awake, and just don’t feel like sleeping at all. A couple of times, it has been when we have been out, and even though I ask for decaffeinated coffee, I am wondering whether I got regular, with caffeine in it. Caffeine always keeps me awake.

Anyway, I normally have Tylenol PM in the house, but I know that it contains acetaminophen, and that may not be good for us, so I thought I would try another PM medication.

Advil is a brand that I trust, and I have used the regular Advil, from time to time. Normally we are in bed and asleep by midnight, but on the nights I can’t sleep, I keep watching the clock. Then my hips hurt, and ankle that I fractured, starts aching. So I thought I would try the light blue Advil PM caplet. I really hate taking pills, so I took one Advil PM, with a glass of water, around 1.00 a.m. I watched the clock until 1.30 a.m., and then I was out, like a light. I vaguely heard Len going to the bathroom, but didn’t wake up until 6.40 a.m. I used the bathroom, and got back into bed, and slept until 8.35 a.m.

When I got up I didn’t feel as if I had taken a pill. I have tried the over the counter sleeping pills, and they keep me awake. I have the shaking in the stomach and have to stay up all night. Sometimes with Tylenol PM, I still feel heavy eyed for an hour or so, and therefore I make sure I don’t drive straight away.

I have now used Advil PM on 3 or 4 occasions and had a similar experience. It takes around half an hour to work on me, and I do sleep. At my age I always end up going to the bathroom once during the night.

Advil Pm has 200 mg of Ibuprofen in each caplet, with 38 mg of diphenhydramine citrate. The ibuprofen is to help with aches and pains, while the diphenhydramine citrate helps as a sleep aid. This combination is a winner with me, and I really don’t feel bad taking it, once or twice a month, as necessary. I would not feel comfortable taking any of these pm medications on a regular basis. Reading the instructions is suggests that you do not use for more that ten days at a time.

The recommended dose it 2 caplets, but I only take 1, and that works fine for me. I am a person that hates taking any kind of pills, as my husband has to take so many, for his chronic illnesses.
