Barney Theme Party for Kids or Toddlers:

Barney, Party for Kids, Theme Party

Kid’s love to watch the TV program Barney. I am sure many of us grew up with Barney memories. My two year old daughter loves watching Barney though she yet couldn’t pronounce the word Barney she calls it “bayee” but the moment she watches Barney who is a character of purple and green color it brings a smile on her face. Like her a lot of kids especially toddlers love Barney.

This year I wanted to do a “Barney theme party” for my daughter’s second birthday party and it turned out to be a great fun filled party for everyone and especially for the kids. I made a Barney poster myself after a long search in the internet for a Barney poster and it took me just 5 minutes to do that. I bought a construction paper book from a local dollar store and made a quick sketch of Barney in a purple construction paper; I then did a small cutout from a green construction paper for the inner green portion of Barney and then just simply pasted it on the Barney picture. To enhance the Barney picture I did cut the Barney picture from the purple construction paper and pasted it on a green construction paper and on that I wrote “welcome to the birthday party”. This became a welcome poster to remind guests about the Barney theme party. Here below is the list of things that I ordered online for home delivery:

1. Barney Invitation cards

2. Barney Thank you notes.

3. Barney birthday cone hats

4. Barney Birthday banner

5. Barney 41″ latex balloon and other Barney balloons

6. Barney blow outs, Barney stickers and Barney Bubble favor pack

7. Barney cake decoration kit and this one comes with three candles and the Barney toy that comes with this kit also has a stamp with it which is a lot of fun for the kids if they want they can get a Barney tattoo with this.

8. Barney Piñata and I bought the piñata filler from Wal-Mart

Other than this I bought green and yellow streamers and balloons from a local dollar store and purple balloon and purple streamers, purple stars from a party supply store. For table covers also I bought purple, green and yellow table covers.

Basically to keep up with the Barney theme I decorated the entire room with green, purple and yellow balloons and streamers and purple stars.

I made footprints of Barney, BJ and baby bob with purple and green construction paper and I kept them near the entrance.

For the food part we had our traditional food but you can keep anything that you would like to keep but don’t forget the kid’s favorite Mac n cheese which is also liked by a lot of kids as is displayed in one of the barney songs. You can also keep a projector displaying the Barney DVD on the wall or screen if you have one at home. Also one can hire a Barney party character to come over and do some fun activities with the kids.

Hope this helps whosoever is interested to host a Barney theme party for their little ones.
