Aquafina Bath and Body Care Line: Product Review

Aquafina, Salt Scrub

For a company that made a name for itself for rehydrating the body, it only made sense that one day it would branch out made a line of hydrating and moisturizing skin care. Aquafina’s new skin care line delivers on its promise to quench the skin’s thirst by effectively hydrating it.

Just in time for the holidays, bottled water company Aquafina, which is owned by PepsiCo, Inc., unveiled its foray into the beauty industry with its inexpensive bath and body care line, which includes a cleansing shower gel, salt scrub, moisturizing lotion and body cream.

I’m a sucker for the newest beauty product, so when I received a gift pack the four aforementioned products, in addition to Aquafina’s Hydrating Lip Balm, I couldn’t wait to try it. And even more exciting was, it didn’t disappoint me as brand new products sometimes can.

The shower gel delivers a clean, fresh scent that is perfect for a guy or girl. Its fresh scent is masculine enough for even the manliest of men, yet soft enough for a woman to enjoy. Just pile some on to a loofah sponge and cleanse away. The formula includes moisturizing elements such as emollients, a type of moisturizing that treats and prevents dryness and scaly skin, to soften, not dry out, the skin. Plus, it comes in a unique bottle in a wavy shape that helps it to stand out among the stiff competition in the beauty aisle.

The salt scrub is perhaps the best product of the entire line. When I use this, I feel like I’m at the beach, rolling around in the sand. It exfoliates the skin and moisturizes it at the same time with its mineral oil-based formula. The scrub blends sea salt with botanical materials that leaves skin feeling refreshed and glowing. But only scrub on a little at a time, otherwise you can end up scratching your skin raw. In fact, the directions only recommend using the body scrub once or twice a week.

The body butter delivers ultimate moisturization without being too heavy and greasy. The whipped cream quickly absorbs into the skin, leaving behind a soft scent and ultra soft skin. This product is great to follow up a shower or bath with. It also works great for soothing legs after a shaving session.

Not to be confused with the body butter, the hydrating body lotion with shea butter is more versatile and makes for a great daily lotion, whereas the body butter should only be used a couple times a week when your body is in dire need of extra moisturization. Like the body butter, the body lotion’s light formula is absorbed into the skin without being greasy.

The hydrating lip balm leaves my lips with a nice sheen without looking too shiny. The menthol is the formula also leaves my lips feeling tingly and fresh. You don’t even have to worry about fresh, minty breath when wearing this–the menthol in the lip balm is strong without being overbearing.

The entire body care line hovers at $5 per product, which makes it possible to buy the whole line without breaking the bank.

Aquafina also launched a skin care lineup, called Aquafina Advanced Hydration RX, which includes a foaming cleanser, a clarifying toner, a facial scrub, a facial moisturizer and more. Though I haven’t tried this particular line yet, based off of their fabulous body care products, I’m sure this line is a just as great.

Hopefully this line will be successful because I plan to continue using their great products. If you tired of using the same body products again and again, or just wanting to try something new, I highly reccommend trying Aquafina’s new skin care lines.
