7 Ways to Have Patience With Someone You Dislike

We all have come across people that we just don’t “click” with. Maybe it is someone that is in your very own family. Such as, the sister-in-law that has the “better” car or the “smarter” children to the ” very obnoxious” co-worker that you have to deal with every day. Could be, you have a new neighbor with many body piercings and tattoo’s. Instead of becoming angry and even making yourself sick. Try to just develop a little patience.

These are some tips that just might work

Smile

Keep a smile on your face and remember to try to look sincere. If you smile and greet everyone “even if it does kill you! “. After awhile this will become very natural to you and you will be surprised how this simple gesture can make things much more pleasant , so, Take a deep breath and “Smile.

Try to know them better

Maybe there is more there than meets the eye. Never try to judge a person just because they have a tattoo or obvious body piercing when the only “piercing” you have is the one in your ear lobe, or maybe they dress in a manner that would make your Mother blush. Everyone has their own sense of style ,it doesn’t mean you automatically judge and dislike them for being different than you are.

Make conversations brief

Try to make the conversation brief as possible. Be nice and tolerant, saying what has to be said then make a quick escape. When you do have to be around the “Bragger” just listen and say “that is nice” and walk on. After awhile they might just get the message that “bragging” isn’t really a good conversational topic.

Hey, everyone loves complements. Try it, but remember to be sincere when doing it!

Negative people sometimes are having personal struggles

I know you have met a person that is so pessimistic about everything ! Some people refer to people like this as “emotional vampire’s” but you know they could be having a really hard time at home. Could be, they are even dealing with depression. Try talking a little to them than maybe you can understand what is really going on and become more sympathetic . note:This type of personality can rub off on you if you aren’t careful.. you have to be on top of the situation.

You are not perfect

We all have our failings too. We could be showing them a side to our personality that might not be so appealing either. Try looking at yourself and see if the problem could actually be coming from you. Sometimes we are much to quick to point a finger at the other person when actually we need to be looking in the mirror to the real problem.

Do unto others as you would want others to do unto you.
