Jax Tats: Jacksonville, Florida

Jacksonville Fl, Navel Piercing, Tats

Just got back your tax return and don’t know what to do with it first? How about getting that tattoo you’ve been waiting to get. In Jacksonville the top three tattoo parlors (in my opinion and in no specific order) have got to be Peacocks Tattoo, Inksmith & Rogers, and Untouchable Tattoo.

Peacock’s Tattoo.
11233 Beach Blvd, #19
Jacksonville, Fl. 32246
(904) 642-0037

This was the first place in Jacksonville that I personally have gone to and gotten both a tattoo and a navel piercing. Cricket, my tattoo artist, was extremely cool and helped me get over my pre-tattoo jitters I seem to always get. The parlor smell reminded me of a doctors office. Peacock’s location is just passed St. John’s Bluff Rd on the Beach Blvd. and Cortez Rd. intersection. Their hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 12:00pm-10:00pm, Friday-Saturday 12:00pm-midnight, and Sunday 12:00-10:00pm. Peacock’s Tattoo does, like their name suggests, tattoos but also does piercings and henna. The website, http://peacockstattoo.com has pictures of some of the artists work and gives you lots of information about aftercare for your piercings incase you don’t remember what they told you before you left with you new accessory.

Inksmith & Rogers
10771 Beach Blvd, Ste 201
Jacksonville, Fl. 32216
(904) 645-3134

Inksmith & Rogers, recommended to me by a friend and co-worker, was the second parlor in Jacksonville that I’ve been to. They actually have multiple locations, all of which can be located on their website, http://inksmithtattoo.com , but the one on Beach Blvd. is the one that my friend and I go to most often. This location is in the same plaza as Six Pockets and Sahara’s Café, and is only a plaza or two away from Peacock’s Tattoo. If you’re looking to get a piercing, Pauly Granger is the man to see. He’s a husky dude who’ll make you laugh so much you’ll forget he’s a second away from shoving a needle through your lip…or whatever else you’re trying to pierce. Their hours of operation are weekdays from 12:00pm to 9:00pm and weekends from 12:00pm to midnight. Inksmith and Rogers does touch-ups, custom tattoos, portraits, and other types of tattoo’s, as well as facial, oral, genital, and more types of piercings.

Untouchable Tattoo’s
9501 Arlington Expy, Ste 550
Jacksonville, Fl. 32225
(904) 855-8999

I’ve heard of Untouchable Tattoo’s from a few different friends who have recently gotten new tattoos there. Located in the Regency Square Mall, this makes it convenient for a one stop trip if you have other errands to run or if you just tend to get the munchies before or during a session. They have both a myspace page ( http://www.myspace.com/untouchabletattoo ) and a facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/UntouchableTattooPiercing). They’ve got loads of photos of their work on both pages, and their hours of operation are Monday-Saturday 9:00-9:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm-6:00pm. Santana, I’ve been told, is one of the guys to see if you’re there. The guys here at Untouchable do both tattoo’s and piercings and are really straight about everything. The parlors second location in the Orange Park Mall just opened this past January.
