Yearly Green and Farmer’s Markets in Palm Beach County, Florida

Green Market, Palm Beach County, West Palm Beach

It’s that time of year again. The local farmer’s markets have started up again. Most of the seasonal markets in south Florida run from October through the end of April which is the prime growing season in our hot and steamy state.

But if you are new to the area or new to frequenting farmer’s and green markets you may just be wondering where the heck are they located? Here is a listing of the markets I currently know about that are located in Palm Beach County.

I love this time of year as it signals the reopening of our farmer’s markets throughout Florida. Standard fare such as fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, and baked goods can be found at most of the markets. Specialty items such as green and black teas, herb plants, arts and crafts, fresh fish and seafood, and pickles can be acquired at certain markets too. A variety of entertainment, such as face painting and live music, is also available at some locations.

Most of the markets listed occur on Saturday morning. Last year my husband, daughter, and I were happy to discover the Taste of the Gardens Green Market in Palm Beach Gardens. It is the only market in the area that I know of that is open on Sundays instead of Saturdays. This market is well attended, has ample free parking and has over 70 vendors selling a variety of merchandise including my favorite, Teas Etc., who also has booths set up at the Delray Beach and West Palm Beach markets.

I haven’t visited the Abacoa market yet so you may want to call first to verify their location. If I could choose only one market I would say go to the West Palm Beach market – it is HUGE!! My second choice is the Delray market only because it just a few miles from my house. I wish the Palm Beach Gardens market wasn’t quite so far away from me but if you live nearby I highly recommend it.
