Wortz Gourmet Crackers are a Good Purchase

Crackers

Recently, I purchased a new brand of crackers that I had never seen advertised or sold. They are Wortz Gourmet Crackers. Who would think that you can purchase gourmet crackers at a dollar store? Nonetheless, this is where I purchased them.

Of course the price was right, being only a dollar. Since purchasing the Wortz Gourmet Crackers, I have seen them at a couple of local grocery store chains in the area. However, they were a bit more than a dollar, running from 1.99 to 2.00.

We were purchasing crackers because we were having a party with friends are were putting together a party tray. I was a bit apprehensive about using dollar store crackers, but decorated the tray with the crackers anyway, hoping for the best. As the evening was very busy, the guests were the first ones to give a review. Several people commented on the food, and a couple of people stated that the crackers were great. Who would have thought that a cracker could be described as great? I made my way over to the food table and tried one out for myself. My guests were right.

Usual crackers are too salty. The Wortz Gourmet Crackers had just the right amount of salt on them. This allowed the flavor of the meats and cheeses to come through. The crackers were a bit thicker and sturdier than other crackers I had used in the past. Usually, the cracker falls apart under the weight of the cheese and meats. This cracker did not. Also, other crackers that I have bought, leave a dry taste in your mouth. The Wortz Gourmet Crackers did not. This left me wondering why they did not and why they might be a bit superior to other crackers I had tried in the past.

First of all, the Wortz is sold as a club cracker, which supposedly means it is a higher grade cracker and sturdier. However, when I called the company to find out what made theirs unique, they explained it was the ingredients. Sure enough, when looking at the label on the side, I noticed that they didn’t used bleached, processed flour. They only use enriched wheat flour in their crackers. They also use soybean or canola oils, which contain less saturated fats. Therefore, these crackers not only taste better, but they are more nutritious for you. When I read the label on my other crackers in the cabinet, I noticed they did not have canola oil or enriched wheat flour in them. Also, the filler ingredients, such as corn syrup and and bicarbonate for tastes were less than two percent of the product ingredients. These crackers are also enriched with iron for better nutrition. Whoever heard of iron enriched crackers? I suppose the enrichment is part of the wheat flour process.

Another nice thing about the crackers is that they were not broken up when I purchased them. They come in three separate packages, but appeared to be more air tight than other crackers I had bought.

I would highly recommend the Wortz Gourmet Crackers to anyone wishing to buy crackers. Hopefully you will find a dollar store near you who sells them. If not, they are worth the purchase price at a regular grocery store.
